Barry T. Yorgey
Barry T. Yorgey, 78, of South Whitehall Twp., passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 5, 2006, in his home. He was the husband of Janice F. (Cope) Yorgey. Born in Allentown on August 18, 1928, Barry was the son of the late Commodore Yorgey and Bertha (Schuler) Clarke. He owned and operated the former Yorgeys Breakfast, Brunch and Lunch in South Whitehall Twp. for eight years before retiring in 1988. Prior to that, he worked for Harned-Durham Oil Co. in Macungie for 25 years. He faithfully and honorably served his country in the Army during World War II, where he served in Japan for over two years. Barry was an avid gardener. Survivors: Wife; children, Barry W. Yorgey and his wife Joyce of North Whitehall Township, Melanie F. Fehlinger of Allentown, Brian W. Yorgey and his wife Cindy of South Whitehall Twp., Rebecca L. Yorgey and her dear friend Donna L. Jackovitz of Lower Macungie Twp., Lisa E. Brinks and her husband Rev. Jeffery A. Brinks of South Whitehall Twp.; brothers, Roger Yorgey in Florida, Merritt Yorgey of Coopersburg; sister, Lorraine Warrington in Nevada; 10 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by a brother, Gordon Yorgey, and a sister, Evelyn Werkheiser. Services: A memorial service will take place at 11 a.m. Friday, December 8, 2006, in Heintzelman Funeral Home Inc., 4906 Route 309, Schnecksville. Visitation period will be 10 to 11 a.m. Friday in the funeral home. Interment will take place at the convenience of the family. Contributions: In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to U.C.C. Greenawalds and/or Hospice of the V.N.A. of St. Lukes both c/o the funeral home, P.O. Box 196, Schnecksville, PA 18078-0196.
