I remember Cynthia when I worked at Longwood Manor. She was a sweet heart. Always a smile on her face. When we held chapel services there she always requested we sing 'Jesus Loves Me'. - Sandy, Resident's assistant.

I heard the wonderful story of Cynthia's life through my friend John Miller. While I never met Cynthia, her story touched my heart.
And, while she never knew me, she prayed for me. She loved to say grace at a meal and she would always end with, "God bless everyone in the whole wide world!"
I thought about her prayer for several days after John shared Cynthia's story. I cannot think of anyone I've ever met that exemplifies the agape love of Christ more than Cynthia did through her simple prayer--"God bless everyone in the whole wide world!"
From the heart wrenching story of her birth, to her final moments on this earth, her life was a testimony to the fact that, "God works all things together for the good, for those who love Him and are drawn according to His purpose"--Romans 8:28
I look forward to meeting her when I leave this world and the first thing I will say to her is, "Thank-you for praying for me and everyone in the whole wide world!"

Cynthia's great, good, and loving spirit lives on in those who knew her. Her life was a lesson to us all in the power of perseverance and the importance of faith, family, and friends.
I believe this photo was taken by my father on Easter Sunday during the 1960s on my parents' porch in Coplay. As always, she is smiling, happy to have worshipped and anxious to be on her way to a family gathering somewhere. Her burdens were many, but she bore them lightly.
This poem by Fr. Charles Curran, SJ, a psychologist, linguist, educator, and Jesuit priest, reminds me of the way Cynthia Ann Koch lived her life:
"The Way of Walking"
Over the way of walking is the way of flying,
It is faster and much smoother, but it is not for me.
The unbruised foot does not know where it has been;
In April, I drink the scent of the lilacs one at a time.
This is the earth that I rose from,
And the ground on which I shall sleep.
Therefore I do not envy the swallow,
Or even the eagle.
They have their kingdom in seeing,
But mine is touching and waiting.

I grew up with cousin Cynthia and she was always at the center of our family gatherings....always smiling, laughing, joking along with us. I have many happy memories of our times together. She lived with our Aunt (Dooksie) when Cynthia's father could no longer care for her. Our aunt would say, Cynthia is "my eyes" for Cynthia would read recipes, the newspaper, etc. for Aunt Dook who had macular degeneration.
Cynthia overcame many disabilities and was a blessing and inspiration to so many.
Her love of the Lord always shone through. She is truly in the Lord's arms reunited with all the loved ones she missed so much.
I will miss her very much. I loved the story about "Jesus Loves Me". "He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning nor crying nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away." Rev, 21 v.4

Dear Family, I have worked at Longwood Manor and now volunteer there. Cynthia always brought a smile to my face. My husband has the Church Service at Longwood one Sunday afternoon each month. Cynthia always requested that we sing 'Jesus Loves Me' and we always did. Having just learned about Cynthia's passing this past Sunday when we were there we sang 'Jesus Loves Me' in her memory. I will always think of Cindy when I hear or sing that song. Our prayers and blessings are with your family at this time.
