Delano Swartz Obituary
Delano was employed by the former NJ Zinc Co., Palmerton, as a furnace and crane operator for many years, retiring in 1994. He was a member of Faith Alive United Methodist Church, Palmerton. Delano was a life member of Bowmanstown Rod and Gun Club, life member of the Bowmanstown Vol. Fire Co., life member of the North American Hunting Club, he served as a 45 year PA State Forest Fire Warden, and former member of the Bowmanstown-Parryville Lions Club. A Marine Corps Veteran of Korea, he served his country with honor in the 1st Marine Land Mine/Demolition Division, achieving the rank of Pfc.
Survivors: Wife. Daughters, Kimberly wife of Corey Serfass of Lehighton, and Kristin Swartz wife of Lisa Leiby of Palmerton. Son, Troy and wife Taryn (Balliet) Swartz of Dillsburg, York County. 4 grandchildren, Jason and fiancee Ivan, Alyssa wife of Morgon, Cadet Kyle Swartz of West Point, NY, and Jayden. Sister, Doris Swolensky of Palmerton. Brother, Blaine of Canadensis, Monroe County. Numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by brothers, Forest, Laird, and Glenn.
Services: Memorial Services: 1:00 p.m., Monday, February 20, 2023, Faith Alive UMC, PO Box 177-678 Pine Street, Palmerton, PA 18071. Call, 12Noon to 1:00 p.m., in church. Interment with Military Honors at Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, Fireline Road, Bowmanstown. Arrangements, Campton Funeral Home, Palmerton. Online Condolences: www.schislerfuneralhomes.com.
