Professor Barry was not only a great professor but also a great human being. I still remember his classes decades after I took the classes. I have taken many classes with many professors through my degrees and Professor Barry in one of the best. He will be always missed.

In 1977 I was unhappy with my state college political science program for an M.A, and I saw an advertisement on the bulletin board for Lehigh University's program. I went there, and Professor Don Barry interviewed me. He gave me a lot of encouragement at a time when I needed it. I had him for several courses, and I really enjoyed him. He was a fine gentleman! My mother and I once bumped into him in Bethlehem on a very special day: It was almost "synchronicity". Sorry this is so late, but I just found out. I live in Mexico. Please accept my sincere condolences.

Don was my freshman resident advisor at Syracuse University in 1956-57 and we established a fine relationship...his graduate field of study, political science, was my major. Having read a lead story about me about 4 years ago in the Maxwell School Magazine of Syracuse Univ. (I am a major benefactor - we both studied at Maxwell) he contacted me and was my lunch guest along with Theresa in NYC where I live. It was a joy to have seen him again after all these years and we spent hours not only reminiscing but talking the myriad subjects in which we were both interested, especially Russia, his field of expertise.
We were both filled with happiness at seeing each other--he thereafter sent me his privately-printed autobiographical memoir which I read with interest. Don was one of the nicest and most brilliant people I have known and I will treasure his memory.

Don Barry was my best friend from the 7th grade at Kirk Junior High School in East Cleveland. We graduated together January 1952 from Shaw High. He was captain of the high school basketball team, attended and roomed together and graduated in 1956 from Ohio University. He was best man at our wedding. We both went to Windermere Methodist Church. Don was baptized there. Mark 16:16 Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved. Don believed that Jesus Christ was crucified for his sins and in His resurrection from the dead for our justification. We are still praying for Theresa, Don's love and angel for over 10 years.

Don Barry was my mentor and friend at Lehigh. He was a fabulous professor and strong supporter of international education. The world is a better place
because of him. Godspeed, Don.

Don was possibly the best professor I ever had. And such a decent and dignified human being. My condolences to Colleen and Brian.( I met you both when you were very young at your parents house.)
You had a great Dad. I hope your memories ease the pain.
