Dorothy Blocker Obituary

Dorothy M. Blocker
Dorothy M. Blocker, 84, of 341 North 7th Street, Lehighton, PA, passed into eternal rest on Saturday, January 30 at Blue Mountain Health Systems Gnaden Huetten Campus. She was the wife of Ernest E. Blocker. They would have been married for 63 years this February 7, 2010. Born in East Penn Township, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Minnie Wehr Gerber. Mrs. Blockers first employment was with Bell Telephone as an operator and later worked as the secretary for the family business with the initial opening of Blocker Enterprises in 1971. She retired in 1995, but continued to actively assist with the family business as a greeter and floor person. She was a member of Zion United Church of Christ, Lehighton. Dorothy was always there to support her families endeavors such as Go karting, Boy Scouts and most recently recreational vehicle sales and service. Survivors: She is survived by her husband; two sons, Dennis Blocker and his wife Joyce, Terry Blocker and his wife Christine; one granddaughter Shannon Blocker, all of Lehighton; and Nieces and Nephews. Services: Services will be held Wednesday, February 3 at 11:30 a.m. at Zion UCC, 225 Iron St., Lehighton with the Rev. Allen L. Heckman officiating. The visitation will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m Wednesday at the church. The interment will follow the services in the Lehighton Cemetery. Contributions: The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in her name may be made to Zion UCC, 225 Iron St., Lehighton, PA 18235. The Andrew P. Ovsak FH, 190 S. 4th St., Lehighton is in charge of the arrangements. Online condolences may be offered at www.ovsakfh.com

MR. Julius Gomez Jr and Helen(peewee) Gomez send are thoughts and prayers for the loss of a wonderful woman and friend we shall always remember her smile and close friendship she has given us over the years along with her husband.
