Edith Gerhart Lichty of Bethlehem, formerly of Allentown, entered into her heavenly home on September 13, 2011. She has been a resident of Holy Family Manor of Bethlehem since October 2008. For most of her life she was a resident of Allentown and raised her family there. She was the wife of the late Robert W. Lichty. Born in North Catasauqua on June 12, 1925 she was a daughter of the late Ralph J. and M. Margaret (Rutman) Gerhart, Jr. She retired at the age of 70 having served s a General Duty Medical/Surgery RN at Sacred Heart Hospital for 30 years. Survivors: Surviving are daughters, Rita J. wife of Philip H. Boger in Lancaster, and Beth M. wife of William L. Symons of New Tripoli; A sister Mary G. wife of James R. Smith in Penndel, PA. Edith has four grand daughters, and four great grandchildren. Edith was predeceased by a sister Grace G. Rentschler.
