Edwin Wessner

Edwin G. Wessner, 67, of Kutztown, passed away on Monday, June 27, 2016 in the Inpatient Hospice Unit of Lehigh Valley Hospital, Allentown. He was the loving husband of Valerie A. (Haaf) Wessner whom he married in October 1974. Born in Allentown, Edwin was a son of the late Edwin K. and Grace (Grim) Wessner. Edwin was a graduate of Kutztown Area High School and was a Pennsylvania National Guard veteran. He was employed as a Foreman at Henkles and McCoy, Inc., Blue Bell, for over 15 years, retiring in June of 2015. Prior to that, he worked on the production line at Mack Trucks, Inc., Allentown, for over 10 years, and worked for Earl Smith Roofing, Kutztown. In his earlier years, Edwin helped to farm and take care of his parent's land. Edwin was a member of Lehigh Lodge #326 F. & A.M., Macungie, Kutztown Rod & Gun Club, and Blue Knob Hunting Camp, Mahanoy City. Edwin was an avid hunter and fisherman, who loved gardening and planting trees and flowers around his property. He also enjoyed bird watching and spending time with his grandsons. Survivors: In addition to his wife of 41 years, Valerie; he is survived by a daughter, Amanda Anne (Wessner), wife of Chad S. Kusko, Breinigsville; two grandsons, Chase A. and Parker J. Kusko; his four-legged feline companions, Buddy and JR; and one sister and one brother. Services: In accordance with Edwin's wishes, services will be private.
