Merry Christmas in Heaven Gina.

September 22, 2010

I believe that everyone is put on this earth for a reason. Gina's purpose was to teach and to save the young children from bad people....And she did! Keep your faith in the good lord, everything will work out for the best. Always remember the saying: God will never close one door without opening another."

Dear Mr. and Mrs. Riso and Eric,

I just found out about Gina's death through the Hope Lutheran Church newsletter. I used to live in Danielsville on Plum Drive. I babysat Gina and Eric for you. She grew up to be a very successful fine young woman. Oh, how I have wonderful memories of being with her and Eric. She had the cutest smile and beautiful blond hair. My thoughts and prayers are with you. God bless you my little sweetheart.

David and Dawn, I found out today your daughter passed away. I honestly don't know what to say. I am so sorry! I can't even imagine what it is like to lose a child. I have 3 children, Tom has 6 daughters (hard to belive), Jon has 2 children, Laurie has 3 and Cathy 2. Our extreme heartfelt sympthay goes out to you. Also I would like to add how much my mom and dad truly liked you both. I wish I could say is there anything I could do but I know there is nothing at this point that would make you want to reach out. Words cannot express all our feelings for you and your family. Please know you are in all our thoughts. Barb, Tom , Jon, Laurie and Cathy Jones.

Riso Family,
I first met Gina at Lock Haven University while helping her move in to Woolrich Hall on her first day of college. As a Resident Assistant I met a lot of people that day but none with as warm of a smile as Gina’s over the period of that year I am proud to say we became friends. Over the years we managed to keep in touch and talk every few weeks I was deeply saddened to hear of her passing she will always be in my prayers. I am so sorry for your loss.

Dear Riso Family,

I am a retired NHS teacher who never had the honor of having Gina in class. However, I well remember her smiling face in the halls and her ability to get along with anyone. She was a gifted young woman in so many ways - her intelligence and athletic ability, of course, but, especially, her humor, caring, and compassion.

Nothing can compare to the beauty of one life, the uniqueness of one soul. Gina's life may have been short, but it was anything but ordinary. Even in your sadness, I hope that you can hold on to the thought that a life lived with so much love never really ends. It goes on forever in the hearts of those of us who remember her.

I am so sorry for your loss and pray that God sends you His understanding and peace.

Dear David & Family and Janine & Family...
We are so sorry to hear about the death of Gina. We never had the pleasure to meet her, but reading comments in the Guest Book, we know she must have been one beautiful girl and is now one beautiful angel in heaven.
Having grown up with the Riso family (Gartner family) in Coplay, I know the love, laughter and wonderful support Gina must have had to make her so well loved, as well.
May God give you comfort to get through the days ahead as well as protect your heart to keep her close to you forever.
Know that you are in our prayers...keep in touch.

Dear Dave, Dawn and Eric, I have tried to find the words to express my deepest sadness about Gina's passing, but I have come up empty. Instead, I will share with you a memory...after hearing about Gina, I pulled out a photo album of Whitney's to find pictures of Gina -I found a good deal of them, all with Gina smiling and kidding around. There were photos of Gina and Whitney on their first days of school at the bus stop, ones of them at birthday parties and swimming in your pool, but my favorite by far is a picture of Gina, Eric, Whitney and Ross, sitting in our backyard at a child's picnic table, in swimsuits, eating corndogs...It made me smile because those days were so precious. But I then realized that 2 of those children are no longer with us. I will never forget the kindness and generosity you showed our family throughout Ross's illness. I will always remember you trying to get the "Aladdin" video for Ross before Disney released it...and the day we came home to find our porch decorated for every holiday of the year...also how you arranged for meals to be brought to our home. Your family has been through so much, yet you give so much of yourself...I am so very sorry for the loss of your beautiful daughter and sister. Please know you are in my thoughts and prayers. I will give you your private time, but will contact you in a few weeks to see if I can come visit. Peace and healing...

Dear Mr. and Mrs. Riso and Eric--

I am so deeply sorry to hear about Gina's passing away. Gina was a hard working student at Northampton who brought life into my classroom...running into her a while back was nice...to hear about her success at college and future plans. Eric, I am so sorry for your loss of a sister as well...my heart goes out to you all and my prayers. God Bless.

I am so very saddened about the loss of your beautiful Princess. I know how very much she meant to you. I know that she loved you all as much as you loved her.
Gina always was fun to be around. Her smile and her joking around made practice fun for everyone. Even in the halls at school, she would be laughing and smiling.
She was so proud to be able to pitch for the Northampton Varsity Softball team. And for such a small girl, she was pretty mighty on the mound! I'll never forget how she thanked me after the season for believing in her.
Her bright and positive personality would have surely helped many students. The last time I saw her, she was so excited to have gotten her teaching degree and I was thrilled for her.
I will never forget her. I will keep her and you in my thoughts and prayers.

Dawn, Dave and Eric-

I know there are no words that can be written that can provide you the comfort that you need right now.

Gina was a lovely girl and though we've lost touch over the years, I will remember all the play dates that Gina and Kristen had while they were growing up.

Hopefully the outpouring of love from everyone that knows Gina will provide a bit of comfort in the days to come.

Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.
