Hamed Hassan

Hamed Hassan, 66, of Wyomissing, died at Reading Hospital on Monday, November 5, 2018. He was a beloved husband, father and grandfather. He is survived by his beloved wife, Gloria Wilson Hassan; Daughter, Sarah Hassan, Daughter, Nora Hassan, Son, Tarek Hassan and his beloved grandson, Yaseen. The couple celebrated nearly 39 years of marriage. Born in Belbeis, Egypt, he was the son of the late Abdel Aziz El Naggar and Aziza Tartoor. Hamed graduated from the School of Engineering, Al Mansoura University, Egypt and later earned his MBA from Rutgers University. He was a retired electrical engineer who worked for both the Suez Canal in Egypt and the DOT in New Jersey. An entrepreneur, Hamed owned and ran the West Reading Diner, now known as The American Diner, for 25 years. He enjoyed practicing his faith, loving his family, serving and giving back to his communities and traveling. Services: Funeral prayers, 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, November 6, 2018 at Muslim Association of the Lehigh Valley, 1988 Schadt Avenue, Whitehall, PA 18052. Family will be accepting condolences on Tuesday at the Muslim Association of the Lehigh Valley from 2:30 to 4:30. Burial in Laurel Cemetery, Whitehall, PA.
