John J. Geosits Sr.

1934 - 2024

John J. Geosits, Sr., 89 of Whitehall-Cementon, PA, passed away on Tuesday, January 23, 2024, at Complete Care at Lehigh Center in Macungie, PA, Born April 20, 1934 in Kresgeville, PA, he was the son of the late George W. Geosits and the late Hilda (Keppel) Geosits. He was the husband of the late Ethel V. (Madea) Geosits who passed away in 2017.

John was a 1952 graduate of Central Catholic High School who was last employed as a Maintenance Technician for the former Beatrice Cheese Corp. Allentown, PA for 18 years before retiring in 1999. John was a member of Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Church, Whitehall, PA. He enjoyed time spent as a member of Grouse Hall Fish and Game Association, Coplay, PA. He served his country as a Private 1st Class in the US Army from 1956-1958.

He is survived by a sister, Mrs. Virginia Plata of Northampton, PA; A grandson, along with nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his son, John J. Geosits, Jr. in 2015 and a sister, Maryann Fatzinger in 2021.

A Funeral service will be at 11:00 AM on Monday January 29, 2024 at Schisler Funeral Home, 2119 Washington Ave. Northampton, PA 18067 with the Rev. Msgr. Daniel J. Yenushosky officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM prior to the service. Interment with military honors will follow in St. Peter's Catholic Cemetery, Coplay, PA.
