Marlene Miller

On August 29, 2018, the world lost some of its beauty and a lot of its gentleness. Marlene Miller, my beloved sister and my greatest fan, passed from this life on that day. She was born in Bethlehem to the late John and Helen Shivek. She graduated from Liberty High School and had an accomplished career at Bethlehem Steel. After retiring, Marlene held a variety of fulfilling jobs that she enjoyed. She had a love for flowers and gardening and enjoyed feeding the birds and squirrels and any critter who made a home in her garden. She was an avid animal lover and had two very spoiled fur babies, Tommy and Lila. Marlene will be remembered for her warm, engaging personality, for her sense of style, and most of all, for her devotion to her family. Love is what she did best. Marlene will be forever cherished and missed by all of us who knew and loved her. Survivors: Marlene is survived by her sister, Eileen Sunday of Center Valley; sister-in-law, Linda Shivek of Nazareth; nephew, Justin Shivek of Bethlehem; and niece, Julie Madeira of Saylorsburg. Along with her parents, she was predeceased by her sister, Kathleen Volkmann, and her brother, John Shivek. Services: Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, September 5, in the Cantelmi Long Funeral Home, 500 Linden St., Bethlehem, 18018, where friends may call from Noon until time of services. Interment will follow at Union Cemetery of Hellertown.
