Ronald David Barclay

Barclay, Ronald DavidRonald David Barclay, 80, formerly of Longswamp Township, Alburtis and Orefield, died March 28, 2015 in the Health Care Center at Luther Crest Retirement Community, South Whitehall Twp. He was the husband of Gladys Ann (Stoudt) Barclay. They would have been married for 56 years in July. Ronald worked for Air Products and Chemicals Inc. from 1956 until retiring in 1989. He worked as a financial analyst, risk manager, assistant treasurer, then retired as a Vice-President and Treasurer. He was an adjunct professor teaching finance at Lehigh University and De Sales University. Born in Pittsburgh, he was the son of the late David T. and Olive S. (Bietel) Barclay. He was a 1956 graduate of the University of Pittsburgh earning his BBA and a 1964 graduate of Lehigh University earning his MBA. He was a U.S. Coast Guard Veteran. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Allentown. At the church, he was a former elder, chancel choir member and was involved in many projects and building campaigns. He held directorships for the Junior Achievement, Lehigh Valley Hospice, Lehigh Valley Hospital, Kids Peace, Habitat for Humanity and was active with the Boy Scouts of America. Survivors: Wife, Sons: Todd D. Barclay and his wife Margaret of Norfolk, VA and Scott A. Barclay and his wife Beth of Marshfield, MA, Daughter: Dana A. Barclay wife of Erick Erickson of Ft. Collins, CO, Sister: Marjorie Hager of Pittsburgh, Brother: David T. Barclay, Jr. and his wife Grace of Pittsburgh and Grandchildren: Nathan, Bethany, Jack, Olivia and William. Services: A Memorial service will be held at 2 pm on Friday, April 10th in the Chapel at the First Presbyterian Church of Allentown, 3231 W. Tilghman St. Allentown, PA 18104. Arrangements by the J.
