Shihan Martin Obituary

Shihan Edward H. Martin, died Thursday July 13, 2017 in his beloved farm in Macungie, PA.   He was a graduate of Emmaus High School and Moravian College. Edward served in the Air Force as B-47 bomber pilot in Strategic Air Command.  He flew for US Steel in Pittsburgh. The majority of his career was spent flying for TWA. Ed studied the Japanese Martial Art Ninjitsu and he became an internationally known and acclaimed teacher, mentor and friend to many all over this world.  He also served locally on the Upper Milford zoning board for over 15 years. Edward was an accomplished man of deep convictions, passionate causes and incredible will. Survivors: Ed is survived by his amazing Wife, Martha K. Martin; Daughters, Cheree Hopkins, Dolly Martin and Meredith Strasser; Sons in Law Charles, Terry and Brendan; Brothers, Robert, James, and Ben Martin; Sister, Betty Stauffer as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Edward was predeceased by brothers Augustus and Samuel Martin. Services: Memorial Services will be held on Sunday August 13, 2017 at 11:30 AM in Schantz Funeral Home, 250 Main St., Emmaus, PA 18049.  Visitation 10:00 to 11:30 A.M. in the funeral home.  Speakers are invited to make brief remarks after visitation hours. Contributions: May be made to the funeral home in lieu of flowers.
