Dear Tim, Tricia, Mrs. & Mr. Yost and Family,

I came upon this notice today and am very sad to hear about Steve's passing. I can only hope that the happy memories of his time with you and with his wife and children can bring some comfort to you all. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

Steve's passing has in many ways diminished us all---for we will no longer be favored by the broad grin that seemed his perpetual countenance. I knew him as friend, fellow patriot, officer and aviator. Steve's love of country, family and God were evident in everything he endeavored...such courage is not learned--it is God given and blessed by the family that raised and loved him throughout the short time his star burned in the heavens. We will all miss Steve...I pray that each of us may draw upon his courage and strength in time of travail and remember him with honor. While we mourn him--angels in heaven rejoice with God at the return of one of his Children.

Until our next Posting Steve!

To all of Steve's family I wish to express my deepest sympathies. I just today learned of Steve's passing and could not believe it. My earliest recollections of our friendship go all the way back to Fairview Elementary School and Little League baseball. The ribbing that I would take from him as the Orioles (I think it was the Orioles he was on) and every other team in Little League beating up on the Padres. Three years hiatus during Middle School; he at NCMS and I at AMS lessened but never completely diminished the friendship. As we went about our somewhat separate paths during high school, they still intersected on occasion and that was good. Steve was always good natured with an incredible sense of humor; confident in his ways but ever humble. May God be with his widow and children and look over and care for them. I am truly sorry for your loss.

Steve grew up in the same neighborhood as myself in New Cumberland, PA. Over the years, I have lost touch with many of the friends I grew up with and was stunned when I heard of the loss of Steve. My sympathy goes out to the family.

Gail,

I am so sorry for this tragic loss. Steve was a wonderful childhood friend to me, an honorable role model whom I always looked up to. Steve was a class act as a youth, and I regret not keeping in better touch with him as an adult. Our prayers are with you and Steve's wife and children.

In Christ's love,

The Yost Family, our community and our country lost a great individual in Steve Yost. He was a selfless patriot and all around good guy. I knew Steve from RLHS, Class of 1986, and we will surely miss him. He was always good natured, friendly and kind toward everyone he met. He was usually the smartest guy in the room, but never bragged about it or showed off. Thank you to the Yost Family for hosting a second memorial service for Steve in New Cumberland today.

I was saddened to learn about Steve's condition and his passing. We were classmates in high school and we worked together there in Student government. I have not seen Steve in 19 years, but remember him as being friendly, out-going and well liked by all his classmates. I wanted you to know how sorry I am for your loss.

I only worked with Steve for a few months at EDS, but during that time we fostered a wonderful working and personal relationship. We loved talking about business and our families. I have been praying for Steve’s return to EDS since his illness began. But now I know his return will not happen. We have lost an outstanding individual in every aspect of the word. He has left an indelible mark in my heart. I will never forget him.

My sympathy and prayers are with Steve and his entire family.

Lynne and family,

It is always shocking to read that someone so young has died. It always leaves me thinking about how difficult it would be for the surviving family and friends. It was particularly so when I realized that the obituary I as reading was about your brother.

I can remember stories from you about how he struggled with the "military thing" his first year at West Point and, of course, remember how pleasant and capable he was. I can't imagine just how incredibly hard this is for you and your family. My thoughts and prayers are with you.
