William G. Luetzel

Luetzel, William G.William G. Luetzel, 89, died December 8, 2014 in Allentown. He was the loving husband of Alice E. (Alberti) Luetzel of 57 years. A native of Wilkes-Barre, Bill attended Wyoming Seminary and after graduation he was a Corpsman with the U.S. Navy during WWII. After entering Wilkes College, he graduated with a BS degree in biology from the University of Scranton. Moving to Schenectady, N.Y., he was employed by General Electric. He later was employed by Dacar Chemical, X-ray division in Pittsburgh as a sales and service representative. After retirement, Bill worked for World Book in sales and school presentations. A member of St. Stephen's Episcopal Church, Wilkes-Barre and an active member of St. Margaret's Episcopal Church where he participated in the annual men's group Christmas play, which all in attendance loved. He enjoyed singing in choirs, participating in folk dancing groups, acting in various plays, singing and performing in a traveling barbershop quartette of which he was in charge of a scholarship program for school music students. Bill loved his family, always finding unique ways to spend time with them. He had several pet dogs which he trained and found joy walking and tending to them. Living a full and pleasant life, being led by his adventurous spirit, enjoying nature and especially the many people he met. Survivors: In addition to wife Alice, he is survived by son William A. Luetzel, daughter Susan Escobedo-Feigh, granddaughters Katherine and Kayla and great-granddaughter Isabella Jany. Services: Funeral services noon Saturday, December 13, 2014 at Boyko Funeral Home, 855 Lehigh Street, Allentown. Call 10 am until time of service.
