William Polaha Obituary

William J. Polaha, 90, of Coplay, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 8, 2022, at Cedarbrook Nursing Home under hospice care surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Dorothy M. (Casper) Polaha, of Coplay, for 68 beautiful years of marriage. They celebrated their anniversary this past May 15th. Born in Allentown, he was the son of the late Joseph and Mary (Brezina) Polaha. William was a 1949 graduate of Central Catholic High School in Allentown. He went on to honorably serve his nation in the Air Force during the Korean War. He worked as a service man at UGI for over 45 years before his retirement. William was a faithful member and usher at St. Peter's Roman Catholic Church in Coplay. He enjoyed volunteering his time for those in need and spent many days as the groundskeeper for Sammy Balliet Stadium. He was a member of the American Legion and a baseball coach for the Northampton Legion. He was an avid Philadelphia sports fan and a lifelong Notre Dame football fan. He enjoyed making many trips to South Bend to watch them play. William also enjoyed bowling in leagues at the local American Club. Above all, William was a devoted husband, caring father, and loving grandfather. He will be truly missed by all who knew and loved him. In addition to his wife, Dorothy, he is survived by two children, William R. Polaha and wife, Donna of Coplay; Sharon, wife of James Quarantello of Las Vegas, NV; and two grandchildren, Jessica Lynn and Gabriella. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by siblings, Dorothy, Joseph, and Mary. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9 AM on Tuesday, July 12, 2022, at St. Peter's Roman Catholic Church, 4 S. 5th St., Coplay, PA 18037. A viewing will be held from 7:30 to 830AM at Brubaker Funeral Home, Inc., 327 Chestnut St., Coplay, PA 18037. Burial will follow at parish cemetery. Aunt Dorothy, Billy and Sharon,
No words to express this loss. More memories than I can count growing up and seeing Uncle Bill at the ball field. He brought a smile to my face EVERY time I was around him. He was one of a kind and I am so glad I was able to be a part of his life. RIP Uncle Bill. You will not be forgotten.

All our love,
Susie and Joe
