Antone Laranjo Obituary
October 11, 1922 - December 12, 2011
Tony was born in Volta, CA. to Manuel and Maria Laranjo. He lived in Los Banos until he enlisted in the US Army in 1944. He served overseas for two years and was honorably discharged in 1946 as a staff sergeant. On April 3, 1948, he married Theresa Silva form Volta. They lived in Los Banos where they raised their 3 children. Tony was a very hard working man who enjoyed gardening, fishing and camping. He was a member of the VFW, Our Lady of Mt. Carmen Society, Los Banos Sportsmen and Retired Teamsters member. His family was very important to him and he was loved by many. Tony is preceded in death by his parents Manuel and Mary Laranjo, brothers Frank and Manuel Laranjo, sisters Mary and Wilhelmina Laranjo. He is survived by his wife of 63 yrs. Theresa Laranjo, son Stephen Laranjo (Carol), daughters Pamela Matheson, Janet Loewen (Gene), 3 grandhchildren Cherie Miranda, Sydney Loewen, Michael Laranjo. sister Beth Laranjo, numerous nieces and nephews. A Rosary will be recited Sunday, December 18th at Whitehurst Funeral Chapel at 7pm. Mass will be held Monday, December 19th at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Los Banos at 9am. Burial will follow at San Joaquin Valley Nat'l Cemetery.
