BARBARA HERFURTH Obituary
Barbara Sue Herfurth left this life peacefully on July 22, 2010 following a courageous battle with cancer.
She was born at Mercy Hospital on December 11, 1941 to Houston and Maudie Sanders and was a life-long resident of Merced, California. She attended Merced High School and graduated in 1959. Following High School she was employed by the Credit Bureau of Merced and McMahan's Furniture Store. In 1962 Barbara met and fell in love with Del Hurfurth and they were married on June 1, 1963. Several years later they started their family. As the children began attending school, Barbara became active in PTA, Little League and Little Miss Softball. The greatest joy of her life was spending time with her family. Barbara was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and a loyal friend. She will be missed by all who had the privilege to have known her.
Barbara leaves behind her husband, Del Herfuth; son, Mark Herfurth; daughters, Cheryl Neely and Laura Herfurth; son-in-law, Brian Neely, and granddaughter, Kaitlyn Neely, all of Merced. She is also survived by her brothers, Roy Sanders of Atwater, and Bill Sanders and Ed Sanders both of Merced.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday, July 28, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at Stratford Evans Merced Funeral Home, 1490 B Street, Merced, Ca. Burial will follow at Merced District Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Stratford Evans Merced Funeral Home.

Barbara was one of my classmates at Merced High School. I always remember how kind she was and her beautiful smile.
May your family feel her presence daily and remember all of the wonderful times you shared. I just heard today about her passisng.

Dear Del, Mark, Cheryl & Laura - we loved Barbara so much. Her smile radiated and warmed an entire room the minute she entered. I married into the Frago/Herfurth family and have been blessed since.

So many memories. Aunt Barbara in the fabric of my childhood. The warmth when I visited as an adult, she always standing up to greet me and my family with a hug, a smile, a laugh. So hard to think of her not being there. Melinda, Ashlee, and I send our hearts out to Uncle Del, Mark, Cheryl, Laura, Brian, and Kaitlyn. She will always be a part of our lives and our memories.

My deepest sympathy to Barbara's family. I met Barbara, August 7, 2009. I was moving my Father in to his new home, Barbara was visiting Bill. Barbara was so kind and friendly, and always fun to speak with. I will miss seeing her smiles. She was a beautiful person, inside and out.

Yesterday was Yesterday, Today is Today, Tomorrow will bring Another Gift for Lifes Experiences, and that will be in the Past also, and As each day becomes our past, Everyday is a brand new begining of our Life,
The truth is that who ever you Believe in, She, He, will never put more on our Plate than we can handle, Because when we think we are Full, Another comes Along, And before you know it the flood gate has opened and it is low Again!!!!!!!,
Del,Mark,Cheryl,Laura, this is Debbie, Vernie's Oldest Daughter and I am so sorry I could not be their for you, Barb will be missed deeply, she will always be in my heart and on my mind,
