Merced, California - On May 20, 2022, Craig Michael Copus, beloved son, father and brother, passed away in Merced, Ca. Craig was born December 14, 1986 to Scott and Cheryle Copus in Merced, Ca.
Craig worked at the Merced Costco for the past 20 years where he had his second family. He enjoyed outdoor activities including hunting, fishing, riding quads and working in his yard and spending his time with family and friends.
Craig is preceded in death by grandparents, Lee and Billie Copus, Dward Brown, Mary Gonzales, aunt and uncle Chris and Leanne Cruikshank. Uncle Vince Gonzales, and cousin Leah Brown.
He is survived by his parents, Scott and Cheryl Copus, sister Krista (Nick) Cecil, his children Payton and Garrett Copus, along with nephew Grant Cecil, grandparents Manuel Gonzales and Barbara Brown, ex-wife Karina Copus and uncles Greg (Debbie) Copus, Randy (Teri) Copus, William (Kim) Brown and aunt Barbara (Rick) Rizzonelli and many cousins.
There will be a visitation for Craig on Wednesday, June 8, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Stratford Evans Merced Funeral Home, Merced, Ca. A funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m. and interment will be a Plainsburg Cemetery, Merced, Ca. at 12:00 p.m.

Our sincere condolences to you and your family, so very sorry .
Craig was an amazing person. At a very young age, when in Ortho treatment he was always so polite, I was always so impressed of his mannerism. When he started working at Costco , he was just as cheerful and polite when I would see him . He truly was a genuine sweet young man.

Craig was a good friend! Good memories with Chad and raelyn matsen always seeing a smile on his face racing the little rc cars. Good times my friend. Rest now and watch over ur babies from up above, let ur wings fly.
