Eva Haley Obituary

Eva Iola "VaVa" Haley
January 31, 1932 - January 7, 2017
Eva Iola "VaVa" Haley went home to be with our Lord on Saturday, January 7th, 2017, at the age of 84.  She was born to Coy & Elsie Littrell in the small town of Marble, Arkansas.  She met the love of her life, Willie Haley in Arkansas and they were married on August 27, 1949.  They moved to California in 1950 and eventually settled in Livingston, California.
Her hobbies were reading, cooking, doing crossword puzzles, but mostly spending time with her family and church family. She was first and foremost a wife and homemaker and later went to work as a special education teacher's aide at Schelby School in Livingston. She worked at Schelby School until she retired in 1980. After retirement she and Willie moved to Missouri to be a caretaker for her Father until his passing.  They later moved back to California so they could be near to their children and grandchildren, finally settling in Atwater, California.
Eva was a devoted Christian and she and her family attended The First Southern Baptist Church of Winton for 28 years. During those years she was very active and taught Sunday School as well as working with her husband on the benevolence committee for nine years.
Eva is survived by her loving husband of 67 years, Willie A. Haley, of Atwater, CA, four daughters, Anita Haley of Gresham, Oregon, Lisa Randall of Santa Rosa, CA., Teresa Haley of Atwater, CA, and Renee Gibson (Scott) of Atwater, CA, six grandchildren, Kiersten Huggett of Gresham, Oregon, Cory Vaughn of Portland, Oregon, Jennifer Randall of Rohnert Park, CA., Aaron Bettis (Angeline) of Merced, CA., Matthew Bettis (Amanda) of Merced, CA, Katelyn Bettis of Hillsboro, Oregon, eight  great-grandchildren, Jordan Huggett of Amarillo, Texas, Trey Huggett of Gresham, Oregon, Emersen Warner of Gresham, Oregon, Natalie Akins of Merced, CA, Noah Akins of Merced, CA., Archer Bettis of Merced, CA, Aubrie Bettis of Merced, CA, and Oskar Aguilar of Hillsboro, Oregon.
There wil be a Celebration of Life held on Saturday, January 14,2017, at 11:00 AM at The First Southern Baptist Church of Winton at 7264 Myrtle Avenue in Winton, with a luncheon to follow.
Arrangements are being handled by Wilson Family Funeral Chapel at 1290 Winton Way, Atwater.  Burial will be private.

So saddened to hear of your mother's passing. I'll always remember from our younger days she was always the bright and cheerful...lady of true grace. As you stated your father said, heaven/God needed her more and know that she'll always be with you through you and your children and grandchildren...what a blessed life she had! Heaven has gained another angel and all that knew her or met her at one time or another can be considered lucky. Thoughts and prayers with Anita, Lisa, Teresa, Renee and your families.

To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.

Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you."

It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man.

God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.

When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.

I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.

There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.

If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.

So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.

And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.
