Harry Howard Jr passed way Thursday, August 2, 2012. Harry was born August 13, 1940 in Summitt, Mississippi. He spent his formative years in Mississippi with his brother Andrew. The family moved to San Francisco in early 1950 where he continued his education and graduated from Balboa HighSchool in 1958. There he ran track and played basketball. Harry joined an apprentiship program in carpentry in 1960 and remained in that field both in the San Francisco Bay Area and for four years as a Construction Manager in Bufffalo, New York. On returning to the Bay Area Harry went to work for Oakland Housing Authority as a grounds maintenance supervisor for 26 years. He retired in 1998 and relocated his family to Atwater, Ca. Harry loved to fish, bowl, camp and golf. Harry joined Mt Olive Missionary Baptist Church in 1998 and remained an active and obedient member until his death. Harry leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Wanda, sons, Michael, Mark and Jarrod, grand children Ricky, Marlisha, Darsalon, Mia and Armani and one grandson Nissir. A viewing will be held Thursday, August 9,2012 at Wilson Family Funeral Chapel, Atwater from 3-7 PM. Services will be held Friday, August 10, 2012, 11:00 am at Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church 559 Broadway, Atwater .

I was so sadden when I heard the news of Harry's passing. Harry was like a Big Brother to me. He and Andrew both always looked out for me because I was always into something. We all attended 1st Union
