John Pira Obituary
February 12, 1921- December 26, 2017
Jack Pira died on December 26th 2017, two months after the passing of his wife Amelia "Mimi" Pira. They were married for 69 years. Jack pira was born and raised in Merced, and gradulated from Merced high school. He attended Fresno State University, and served his country in World War II. Together, Jack and Mimi ran two motels, the Cozy Motel in Merced, as well as the Villa Motel in Monterey. Jack is survived by his two sons, John Pira of Monterey, Robert Pira of Merced, as well as his three grandchildren Johnathan Pira of San Francisco, and Jacquelyn and Stephanie Pira of Merced. Jack will be truly missed and never forgotten. A Memorial will be held to celebrate the wonderful life Jack and Mimi shared together on Sunday, January 7th from 1:00pm-4:00pm. Please join us for lunch to share stories and memories of both Jack and Mimi. The Celebration of life will be held at the Italo-American Lodge, located at 1351 W 18th Street, Merced, CA, 95340.

Jack and Mimi were a dynamic duo, I had the pleasure of working for them as property and Motel Manager, They were both the most gracious and thoughtful kind people who have greatly influenced me throughout my life. I will always be very thankful to them, please accept my most sincere condolences to the family, God Bless Jack and Mimi both in Jesus name Amen!
