Leslie Hendricks Obituary

Leslie Ann (Coe) Hendricks
August 14, 1959 - August 23, 2016
Leslie was born August 14, 1959 in San Antonio Texas to Kenneth and JoeAnn Coe.  She is survived by her husband Larry Hendricks of Atwater, her parents Kenneth and JoeAnn Coe of Wesley Arkansas, two brothers Kenneth Coe II (Kerin) of Atwater and Todd Coe (Trish) of Wesley, Arkansas, two sons Brandon McCollum (Apolonia) of Colorado Springs, Colorado and Michael McCollum (Kerry) of Ft Lauderdale, Florida.  She was the proud grandmother to Giuliana Leslie, Gabrielle Ann, and Harper Ann.
Leslie married her best friend and fishing buddy Larry Hendricks on 12/22/2001.  She enjoyed a life of adventure, full of scenic drives, camping, fishing and many expeditions in the RV.  She very much loved horseback riding with her friends as often as she could.  Leslie loved both her and her husband's families and enjoyed good food and their company whenever possible.
Over the years, she worked for Blue Shield of CA, Mercy Medical Center Merced, served on the boards of Love INC of Greater Merced, Blue Star Mothers Chapter 33 of Merced and Atwater Baptist Church.  She spearheaded and was very much involved with and passionate about the volunteer music program at Mercy Medical Center Merced.
Leslie was an excellent cake decorator, flower arranger and in her younger days, she was a very accomplished ballerina for many years.  She loved to spend time crafting and beading, creating beautiful jewelry, crystal hunting as an amateur rock-hound and star gazing.  She even has her own star named after her.
Being a successful liver transplant recipient, Leslie felt very passionate about sharing her story of how organ donation can have such a positive impact on so many people and how that gift of life truly branches out and reaches incredible distances.  She was humbled and grateful for the opportunity to extend her time here with us and witness both of her sons become successful in their careers, and turn into wonderful husbands and fathers.  She was able to see, hold and play with her three beautiful granddaughters, a true joy that she cherished.
Leslies love and faith touched so many of us, and she will be deeply missed by all.  Her family would like to thank all of the great nurses at Covenant Care Hospice, Dr. Nancy Keeler, Amie Marchini and family and friends that helped with her care, and very special thanks for all of your prayers.
A celebration of life is planned for September 17th at 10:00 at the First Church of God, 2100 Fruitland Ave, Atwater CA and will be immediately followed by a reception luncheon in Atwater.
Internment will be private.

I had the privilege of working with Leslie at Advanced Eye Healthcare. She was such a kind person and was so very wise. She gave all us young gals great advice. I'll cherish the memory of joining her on her survivor walk at the Relay for life in Atwater! Rest in paradise Leslie, you've fought long enough...

I remember Leslie from when I attended Atwater High 1975-1976. Although I spoke to her only twice, I felt a rare genuineness and purity of heart that I'm sure will be missed by her friends and family.

Leslie will truly be missed by all. I was blessed to have received 3 beautiful handmade Christmas ornaments from her, many years ago. This year, they will mean even more when I hang them on my tree, just as I have for so many years.

My deepest condolences to your family in this time of sadness, but then also joy. Leslie stood for what is right in people and there is no doubt that God looked at her and said "Well Done Child". I am honored to have known her.

Larry, I am so sorry to hear of Leslie's passing. She was a very special person, and it is an honor to have known you both. I will never forget her soft voice singing those old western songs that we both liked. We shared many happy moments and I will always remember you both.
