Richard Mayo was born December 31, 1957 in Martinez, California and passed away March 29, 2015 in Planada, California at the age of 57 years.
Richard was a life-long resident of Planada. He worked in construction as a carpenter for 30 years. He enjoyed drawing and woodcarving. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and antiquing with his wife.
He was preceded in death by his father, Ascension Mayo; mother, Magdalena Mayo; Brother, Tony Mayo; and sister, Irma Mayo.
He is survived by is wife, Diane E. Mayo; children, Rene Mayo and Andre Mayo; brothers, Jesse, Angelo, Manuel, Ascencion Jr., Louie, Freddie, Michael, Hector, and Ruben; sisters, Margie, Lisa, Pat, and Martha; and grandchildren, Rene Mayo Jr., Chloe Mayo, Yvette Mayo, Julianna Mayo, and Andre Mayo Jr.
A Memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 4, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Stratford Evans Merced Funeral Home in Merced.

To Diane, my sister-in-law Margie and all of the Mayo family, I am so very sorry for the loss of such a wonderful and kind man, Richard. I am so sad about his passing and really cannot believe that he is no longer with us. I have known Richard for so many years not only as neighbor but as a friend. It was fun growing up with Richard on Merced Street and going to high school with him. There are so many memories of him. Richard you are now in paradise with your mom, dad, Tony, Irma and your grandma. Diane may God Bless you and your family during this very difficult and sad time.
