Samuel Robinson Obituary

Samuel Robinson
December 20, 1993 - August 11, 2022
Manchester, Tennessee - Samuel (Sammy) Brandon Robinson, 28, of Manchester, TN passed away on Thursday, August 11.2022 in Nashville, TN. Born December 20, 1993 In Merced, CA, he was the son of Richard and Carol Mooneyham Robinson.
Surviving in addition to his parents, is his sister Gina (Corey) Nieiderer, and their children Phillip, Corrine and William of York, PA. Aunts, Frances Mooneyham Hoyt of Merced, CA, Betty Mooneyham of Winton, CA, Anne Mooneyham of Atwater, CA and Maxine Mooneyham of Winton, CA. and Uncle Bobby Mooneyham of Winton, CA and numerous cousins and great cousins. He also is survived by his cat Missy who he rescued from an abandoned building 8 years ago. As well as by his stuffed bunny named Beamie who he's had since he was about 4 months old. He knew all of Sam's hurts and secrets. Another faithful friend.
He was pre-deceased by his Aunt Ann Mooneyham Kostecky (Skip) and 4 Uncles, Maurice Mooneyham (Flo), Richard Mooneyham, Doyle Mooneyham and Don Mooneyham. Also predeceased by his faithful Yellow Lab. Woody who lived to be 19 years old.
In school, he met some of his best friends. Together the group would support each other in their best times and their worst. He graduated from Buhach High School in Atwater, CA in April, 2022. Always willing to listen and offer advice he connected with many people in all walks of life, from wealthy to poor, men and women, old and young. Sam could talk to anyone. And talk, and talk and talk! His friends have commented "He always lit up the room when he walked in". He was intelligent, very well-mannered and well spoken. And he was REALLY funny. He loved to play volleyball and he was a good swimmer.
He loved to travel and fortunately was able to travel rather extensively with his parents. Numerous trips were taken to NYC where we saw many Broadway shows, the fireworks over NY Harbor on the 4th of July and Christmas at Rockefeller Center where he loved to ice skate. We even went to George W. Bush's Presidential Inauguration. I think he enjoyed Cancun and Disneyland the best. He loved the ocean and the beach. When we were in Disneyland he would always run to the ride he wanted to ride first, Autopia! His love of cars was immense from Hot Wheels to real cars. He knew every make and model, the amount of h/p, torque, gas mileage, etc. He even turned his Mom into quite the car aficionado!
Sam was very close to his parents. He loved us and we loved him. We were a unit. We did everything together. Traveling, enjoyed going out to dinner (his favorites were Indian food and Mexican food) shopping, going on rounds with his Dad on Sundays at the hospital. Of course, he had to take some Hot Wheels with him to play cars with the nurses.
He loved all kinds of music and dancing. He loved Britney Spears and got to attend 2 of her concerts. He also admired Princess Diana. Reading was a favorite pastime, he read the "Left Behind" series. He enjoyed car magazines, gossip magazines and was currently reading some John Grisham novels. He kept up with the daily news and had very specific ideas about world events and politics. And cars, did we mention cars?
If you knew Sam you know he loved DRAMA! He always said he wanted everyone to wear black to his funeral. Since he isn't having a service at this time, if you like to honor Sam's memory, I'm sure he would like all of his friends and family to wear black on August 31, 2022 which is the National Overdose and Fentanyl Poisoning Awareness Day. If you were ever Sam's friend, thank you. If you weren't, you missed out. He was a terrific guy. He fought and fought but the dreaded disease of addiction won.

To Sammy´s parents and family, I´m so very sad and sorry to read this news. My youngest daughter went to school with Sammy from kindergarten on and we remember him as a bright, sassy and good boy with a wonderful sense of humor. Please accept our deepest sympathies and know that he will be remembered.

I am deeply sorry to hear that y'all have lost your Sammy. Since the first days Sammy arrived your hearts overflowed with love. Such great times that were had with him being the center of your lives. Hold onto all those memories as you move from day to day. Even in his illness he knew that you loved him as much as he loved you both. As Sammy took the hand of Jesus he become instantly free from addiction. He now soars with God's angels. God bless you both. Etta
