Andrew Yee Obituary

Andrew Yee
Jun. 28, 1954 - Mar. 23, 2016
Resident of San Jose
Andrew Eric Yee passed away unexpectedly on March 23, 2016. A loving and generous husband, father, son, cousin and friend. Andrew is survived by his wife of 31 years; Christine Cheng-Yee, his daughter, Cheryl Yee; his mother, Helen Yee; and a large community of family and friends.
Born on June 28, 1954 as the only child of Calvin and Helen Yee, and raised primarily in San Jose and then in San Francisco, CA. Andrew graduated from Galileo High School in 1972 and attended in San Francisco State earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in Accounting. He continued his education at Pepperdine University of Malibu, CA earning his Master's degree in Business Administration and at Golden Gate University received his Master's degree in Finance. Andrew worked as a Cost Accountant in various Silicon Valley companies and a Loan Officer and Loan Operations Manager in Real Estate companies after getting his Real Estate license.
Andrew was an avid fan of college sports for University of California Berkeley and San Jose State University Football teams, and Pepperdine University Basketball. He thoroughly enjoyed traveling to train stations in CA to observe and ride steam trains. He was characterized by family and friends as courageous and lived life everyday as his last, even when he suffered kidney failure and had to receive kidney dialysis. He will be deeply missed.

Andy,
God Bless You and Family!
I've been thinking about you.
playing basketball with you at Galileo, I never met anyone who could jump as high.
You taught me how to make grilled bologna and cheese sandwiches, grilled with mayo on the outside, with Laura Scudders BBQ chips.
You and your drum set.
Rest In Peace my Friend!

I will always remember Andrew as a great friend. It was always fun and a pleasure to be around him. We went to Cal football games together for many years and saw some great games and some real bad ones--without doubt he kept my spirits up! I think Andrew was a better Cal Bears fan than me without being grad. I will never forget that trip with Andrew, Christine and Cheryl to attend the Holiday Bowl; I'll always appreciate the warmth, generosity and friendship shown to me. Thanks Andrew for some great times and memories I won't forget.

Rick and I will miss Andrew very much. We had so much fun with him. Looking for the eateries in Chicago that Guy Fieri and Man vs Food recommended. Going to all the Stanford/ ND games and tailgating. Andrew and Rick taking a short walk to get a battery in Seattle, that turned into a long journey.

Remember our trip to USC vs ND game? Andrew wanted to see the Coliseum. ND lost badly that game and Andrew always said that ice cream makes everything all better. Like when Andrew's team Cal Bears lost the game at the Holiday Bowl. Instead of moping, Andrew said let's go get ice cream. It did make us feel better.

We had a lot of good times and he will certainly be missed.

Chris and Cheryl,

Since City College, Andrew has always been a good friend and will be missed. Thank you for supporting him through his trials and tribulations. My lasting memory of Andrew will be him happily dancing to the music at the San Jose State football game.

Christine and Cheryl,
I will miss Andrew very much. He loved talking about sports and going to sporting events. I will remember all those tail gate parties at Stanford vs. Norte Dame and the time when Andrew and I got lost after the game trying to find our cars in the parking lot. He had a beautiful smile and hearty laugh.
I remember the time when he would imitate my Dad's laugh, loud and full of laughter. Thank you Andrew for the wonderful memories.

My Darling Husband, Andrew:
I am grateful for a lifetime of memories and experiences I had with you since the first day we met. I know that your suffering is over and it gives me comfort that you might be with our loved ones that passed, too. I will truly miss your energy, wisdom, and love for myself and our daughter, Cheryl. See you again in the after life.
With all my heart and love,
Chris
