Douglas F. Pollock

Resident of Redwood City

Born of Scottish parents on Aug. 20, 1916 in Tientsin, China and raised in Glasgow. Preceded in death by 3 sisters, 4 brothers, and Joan Pollock, loving wife of 58 years.

Doug met and married Joan in York, England during his WWII military service. They lived in York with their 3 children until emigrating to Canada in 1956, then to the US in 1964.

Doug enjoyed piano playing, gardening, letter writing, brisk walks, family celebrations and telling jokes. He was a steady source of love, encouragement and prayer support to family and friends.

He went peacefully to his Lord and Savior on Jan 18, 2011 at age 94 and will be greatly missed by his children, Barbara Esmond and husband Gary, Andy Pollock, Jill Trenschel and husband Dale, his grandchildren, Julie Branstrom and husband Craig, Dave Esmond and wife Bynn, Dan Esmond, Brian Trenschel, Laura Longenecker and husband Eric, and his great-grandchildren, Drew, Maddie, Sierra and Connor. A memorial will be held at First Baptist Church, 1100 Middle Ave, Menlo Park on Friday, Feb. 4, 2011 at 2:30 p.m.
