I am still so deeply saddened by this news. I just saw Isaac the Friday afternoon before when I was picking up a chicken burrito to go. There was someone in the restaurant buying shots of Don Pilar for everyone and one was brought to Isaac but he said no as he was busy writing up the beautifully artistic specials board with his colorful markers. it was then offered to me and I said sure but only a sip and was delighted at how wonderfully smooth it was. Isaac and I continued to talk about the neighbor next door and how one day being able to purchase the building to provide ample parking for all his customers. My burrito was up, I paid and bid him farewell. My sincerest condolences go to his family, friends and all of the people and communities he blessed with his graciousness. You will be forever missed Isaac. RIP. Judy Perry - Rockaway Beach.

Like Elvis, another king, "King Isaac" left us way too soon. A genius in business and as a chef, Isaac worked to help and make people happy.
Some people need "fiction" in their eulogy, pumping them up, but not the "King of Don Picos." A "great man" has left the building! Hasta luego mi gran amigo!

Dear Don Mejia, Dona Linda, Martha, Angela, Annabell, Florencia, Lucy, and Francesca
I am saddened by the lost of your son, brother, husband, and father. Isaac Martin truly did something with the he shared with us. His generosity and humanity was welcomed by all he knew him. I knew as a young kid playing in the vacant lot on Pennsylvania Street next your house. Isaac would play with the big kids unafraid he would make us listen to what he had to say. He grew up, found his voice and his words painted pictures of poetry and pleasant time. I remember Isaac in the sun light of the summer sun, and the green hew of the licorice jungles of Potrero Hill.
I will miss you, Isaac

My daughter Quiara and I had the pleasure of seeing you for what I did not realize was the last time. She came out to attend a wedding the first week of Sept and when out here our go to dinner place is Don Picos. Our first time was in 1993. You have a very infectious smile and no matter what is happening around you good or bad it's always there. You will be missed but I know you are looking down all that care and love you both family, friends and just acquaintances over the years with that SMILE !

Somewhere beyond the sunsets end
The skies are bright and fair
No shadows dim, no darkness falls
The land is peaceful there
Someone with the power to heal
To guide and understand
Is waiting there to claim our fears
And take us by the hand
So when a dear one heeds the call
Our hearts should be at rest
For there beyond the rainbow end
A loving God knows best
God bless and god speed.

I hardly knew you, but my daughter, Helen, and her family spoke so highly of you. I admired you from afar, and am saddened by your sudden passing. You always came to our table to greet us with your beautiful and loving smile. I know what a kind, gentle and loyal friend you were to my family. You were generous with your knowledge of your business and taught Gabe how to be the best employee he could be. I see Maxx driving your old Mercedes-Benz station-wagon: the perfect car for a kid with a cello to tote around. You treated staff and clients like family. You will definitly be missed throughout the area. There will always be a big unfilled void in San Mateo County. May your family find comfort in all their memories of you. And may peace and love in their hearts prevail so they may continue to serve the community a-la-Isaac Mejia. Food and libations just got better up there with you at the helm. Rest in peace.

Dear Mejia family, I am terribly saddened by your loss of Isaac. I did not know him, but most of the rest of the family has been taking care of me for years in San Carlos. Everything written about him suggested he was just as caring as the Mejia Medical team. My thoughts are with you, as I know what it feels like to lose a family member unexpectedly. Please give it time and you may someday take some measure of comfort in that he always lives on in your memories of him and how he has affected your lives as son or brother or husband. My deepest sympathies.
