J. Gresham Obituary

J. Eldon Gresham 11/11/1931 - 8/30/2008 Eldon Gresham, cherished husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend passed away on August 30 after suffering a stroke on July 27. A fifty-year resident of Santa Clara, he was born in Pomona, CA and moved to Sunnyvale as a child with his family and later to Saratoga. He was a graduate of Fremont High School in Sunnyvale, class of 1949. Later he attended both California Polytechnic College and San Jose State University where he met his wife of 53 years, Deon. During the Korean War he served his country in the U.S. Army. For over 30 years, Eldon was a self-employed Real Estate Broker and investor in Santa Clara County. Also he was a member and past president of the Santa Clara Lawn Bowls Club, a member of the South Bay Yacht Club and the Fremont High School Alumni Association. In addition to his wife he is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Mari and Forrest Gingold of Santa Clara, sons Mark Gresham of Sacramento and Matt Gresham of San Jose and grandchildren Joseph, Christopher and Cinna Gresham and Addie and Tessia Gingold. Also surviving him is a sister Darlene Harms of San Mateo, brothers Ronald Gresham of Yerington, NV and Lowell Gresham of Prunedale and eleven nieces and nephews. Private family services have been held. A celebration of Eldon's life will be held on October 12 at 11:00 a.m. at Lima Family Mortuary, 466 N. Winchester Blvd., Santa Clara, followed by a luncheon. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made in Eldon's memory to the Fremont High School Alumni Association Scholarship Fund, P.O. Box 2709, Sunnyvale, CA 94087-0709.
