James Winslow Obituary

James Winslow Jr. "Jim"
July 17, 1943 - April 18, 2021
San Carlos, CA
In his own words, Jim Winslow lived a long, full life. He was always dedicated to service, justice, and above all, a fierce sense of loyalty to those whom he loved. After retiring from the San Mateo Police Department as a patrol officer from 1965-1974, Jim initiated a career in pest control services.
For Jim, there was no greater gift than his Son, Bradley; and two grandchildren, Malik and Myles. Jim also leaves behind his wife of over 30-years, Leslie Sarle Winslow; and many other family members and friends.
Jim was an avid Ocean Diver from the time he was 16-years-old into his advanced years -- holding his breath, he would dive 50-100 feet down spending over two-minutes underwater to spear fish or pull large abalone off of rocks.
Jim refused to consider a liver transplant. He said that his life was full, and that if a healthy liver became available, it should be given to a child or young parent who's full life was still ahead of them.
After a terribly difficult battle with liver disease, Jim passed in his sleep with his son Bradley at his side, just past midnight on April 18th.
