So sorry to hear of this loss. I knew Pat from us taking a couple of classes together at De Anza during a summer session. He was a kind, warm-hearted, gregarious big guy. He was getting general ed credits during the summer while working part-time doing construction work. One of the classes was Speech. We helped each other out in rehearsing for our talks. He had one speech about a horse-riding adventure with friends at Leland, another about the hardship of playing football on synthetic or astro-turf and how it impacted his knee, and one on the pressures of the upcoming Cal football training camp coming up at the end of summer. He loved the game, was great at playing it, but conveyed a sense of dread of the yearly camp and the physical toll that it took. We went our separate ways and to different universities after the session and, as things often go in life, lost touch. It was good to hear later that he had the shot at the NFL he was looking for and worked hard to get. Based on the other comments, he touched a lot of lives, and is fondly remembered by me in the brief time we ran together.

I lost touch with Pat after he left Cal to go to the NFL & then I moved East. I was reminiscing about the old days with some fraternity brothers when a memory I had with Pat eating an entire 5 pound super burrito at Manuel's. That led me to finding this horrible news that I never knew. I know my cousin Dave, who played with Pat at Leland, echoed the wonderful nature & personality plus that Pat brought everywhere. I hope I can bring the same light to the world that Pat shined in his far-too-brief time on this Earth.

As I was looking over the Leland web page,I came accross the announcement regarding Pat, i was devasted and so very sorry to hear about his passing. My mind at that point was just flooded with memories that I had about/with Pat. I remember going up against him in football practice. He knocked me on my behind more times than I care to remember. I will never forget the last time I saw him. It had to be at least 25 years ago. My friends and I ran in too him accidently at Almaden Dam one night, long story short, Pat and I laughed and talked story about old times into the wee hours of the night. His laugh was truly infectious. My sincerest condolences to his family. God's Blessings to all of you.

My deepest sympathy to Pat's family for their loss, there are just no words that can be expressed . Sorry to say I have not had contact with Pat for thirty years but his memory has always been with me. I knew Pat in the early 1980's working at Mountain Charley's Saloon in Los Gatos after leaving football.
Pat liked to fish the jetti at Half Moon Bay where we sat with his old cooler hoping for a good catch that just never happened, I don't think he really cared he just enjoyed being there. Because Pat had a great sense of humor and we laughed alot thats probably why we didn't catch many fish.
I'm sure he has a special fishing spot he is enjoying now.

This is such sad news. When I think of the phrase "winning personality," I see your smile and hear your laugh, Pat. Such great times at Leland and Cal, and with Jim and Vince. I'm blessed by your friendship, and mourn your loss.

My heart goes out to your wife and daughters, to Phil and to all of your family.

In high school, I remember Pat possessing a unique talent for anything he attempted. He was a natural, charismatic leader. Once, during a Leland football game celebration, he tossed me in the air like a toothpick! What an athlete!

Pat lived down the street from me during high school so we saw each other every day on the bus. I went to footballs games and cheered him on. I remember a state championship game were the other team deliberately injured Pat. my father was so mad and upset I thought he was going to jump on the field. I wish his family my condolences.

Approximately 20 years ago we had the pleasure of meeting Pat, Jami and the girls through our parents Phyllis Graham and Marvin Greer. Over the years we have many memories of family parties, holiday gathering and even vacations in Tahoe. Pat was a wonderful man and left us all too soon. Our thoughts and prayers go out to Jamie and the girls, his brothers and his sister, his mom and the rest of the family. Pat will truly be missed.
