Robert Nelson Obituary

Robert Arthur "Bob" Nelson Passed away on March 5, 2006 in Roseville, Calif. He was born on November 26, 1923 in Chicago, IL to Arthur and Edna Nelson. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Lula Nelson, daughters Patricia (Cliff) DeTar, Roberta (Larry) Tosta, Susan (Joe) Girimonte, Carol (Rich) Ventura, sister and brother-in-law Dorothy and Don Conway, 11 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by both parents and sister Joyce Spence. Bob served his country in the Merchant Marines and United States Navy before attending the University of IL. He met and married Lula Hanna in 1946 and they enjoyed a wonderful life together with their family and many wonderful friends. During Bob's engineering career, he worked at Lockheed Aerospace, he was proud to have worked on the Polaris Missile program and Space Shuttle among other projects. Bob and Lula moved to Rocklin in 2003 after living in Saratoga for 45 years. Bob's interests were varied. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed woodworking in his shop, playing bridge, traveling and dancing with his wife Lula. He was an avid sports fan and loved his alma mater's Fighting Illini, the Chicago Bears and the Chicago Cubs.

A Memorial Service will be held at Los Gatos Presbyterian Church, 16575 Shannon Road, Los Gatos, on March 11, 2006 at 10:30 a.m. Donations may be made to your local Hospice or the American Alzheimer's Association.
