Ron Schwartz passed away at the age of 90 on November 5, 2022. He leaves behind his loving wife of 68 years Mona, and his beloved sister Lois Selna. He was a supportive and loving Dad (Pop, Pops) to his 3 children, Ronda Borden (Joel), Larry Schwartz (Sandy), Thomas Schwartz (Lisa), his Bonus Daughter Kathryn DuBose (Scott), 5 Grandchildren, Stacie Turner (Ben), Gregg Schwartz (Alyssa), Noah Borden, Geoffrey and Brooke Schwartz, 2 Bonus Grandchildren, Taylor and Paige Dubose and 3 Great-Grandchildren Zach Turner, Kira Schwartz and Bodie Turner. A Special Thank you to his compassionate caregivers Maria Nava and Clara Nava.Ron graduated from San Mateo High School, San Jose State University (with an Accounting Degree), received his CPA, served in the United States Army, recruited out of college by the Government and eventually moving into a Medical Administration career. After a very long and successful professional career, Ron took his many talents, skills, passions and diverse interests to multiple clubs and organizations, including President of Bayside PTA, Lakewood Village Home Owners Association, on the Lakewood Methodist Church Board, One of the Three founding Members of the Cartoon Art Museum of San Francisco, President of the Senior Commission of San Jose, Officer of Cypress Senior Center, President of the Friends of the West Valley Library, (Volunteered for over 20 years and was named Volunteer of the year), Campbell United Methodist Book Club, Leader and founder of the Vista Book Club (Palo Alto), Board member of Vista, President of the Methodist Church Foundation, Cypress Senior Center Romeo's Co-Founder, City of San Jose Council of Aging, Taught Fencing at the Renaissance Faire in Novato, Worked the Antiques Road Show, Kiwanis East San Jose President, Cypress SeniorNet Board Member, Founder and Coordinator of the Cypress Tax Advice and Preparer's Group, and volunteered for years in helping to run the local Elections. Ron had a great laugh and loved to laugh. He was a devoted and loyal friend, artistic, passionate orator, extremely intelligent with a life long love of reading, including Comic Art and his favorite hero Batman. He will be missed.Services will be held on Saturday November 19th at 1pm at Campbell United Methodist Church located at 1675 Winchester Blvd., Campbell, CA 95008. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in Ron's memory to Vista Center for the Blind and Visually Impaired.
