Stephen King Obituary

Stephen King
Feb. 24, 1959 - Dec. 11, 2015
Grass Valley, CA
Stephen David King, a resident of Grass Valley, CA passed away after a brief illness. Stephen, a graduate of St. Francis High School, grew up in Mountain View, CA and was a star pitcher in Little League, Babe Ruth and for the St. Francis Lancers. His love of nature and the great outdoors led him on a driving adventure to Alaska after graduation and to settle in the Marysville/Yuba City area, where he could easily indulge his love of fishing and hunting while working as a glazier. He later drove long haul trucks, where he enjoyed getting to see much of the US and Canada.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Layne Sampson King, who was the love of his life. They knew each other as young teens, playing in an accordion band. They went their separate ways only to reconnect through mutual friends in their later years, marrying and settling down in Mountain View and then in Grass Valley. He is also preceded in death by his father, David King and his brothers Ronald and James. He is survived by his mother, Marilyn King, his sister Kathleen and her husband Tom Rankin, his brother Gary King and nieces and nephews in Georgia and California.
A memorial Mass for Stephen will be held at 1pm on Saturday, January 9, 2016 at St. Athanasius Church, 160 N. Rengstorff Ave., Mountain View California. A reception will follow. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or to the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA).

I sure do miss talking to you- Stephen, and my
best friend, Layne.
She was the best, as you well know. And she finally
had her dream, the guy, the home, and her
little piece of heaven in the mountains she so
dearly loved ..........
I miss her everyday
Take care of her until we meet again
