HAPPY BIRTHDAY, AUNTIE TONI!!
I'm so sorry I missed your birthday last year! I was so preoccupied at the time getting ready to travel to India in February 2023 with Courtney for her friend's wedding. It was such a great experience, very eye-opening and so beautiful! I attached a couple pictures for you.
I was also pretty distracted because I met a special someone. His name is Matthew. He is ten years older than me and he treats me like a QUEEN. I'm gonna marry him one day. You would have LOVED him, Auntie Toni, I know it!

It's, me again your old pal, Sandy. I am, sorry I haven't, been on here, in a while. Life, has been, so busy! I wish, you were here, to celebrate & see, my home. I am, finally living near the beach & it is beautiful! I have, some really nice neighbors, too! I know, you would have loved it, here & you would have been, a frequent visitor. I know, you would have loved, visiting the Botanical Gardens. I think of you, so much sitting, at one of the many benches, through out, the park. It, is truly beautiful & a magical, place! Every, Sunflower I see, reminds me, of you! I think, of you, everyday & all the great times, we had & the laughter, we shared. I never, would have made it, through all the teenager, growing pains, without you! You, taught me how to use makeup, do my hair, even how to dance, lol! Boy, were your toes sore, lol! Hi Toni,
Another year, with out you. Yesterday marks, eighteen years gone. It's so hard, to believe. I really wish, you were here. I still see sunflowers, all over the place. So many happy memories, I have of you & how lucky, I was to have you, as my best friend. We always had a lot of laughs, no matter the situation & trouble, we got in. You always called me Lucy, for my crazy ideas & you Ethel, my partner in crime. Remember, we went to Mr. Cranel's house to TP it? The same night, he had a big cocktail party, lol! We almost got busted!! A trunk full of cases of TP lol!! In Drivers Ed, Mr. Farnham busted us, for talking & then tried separating us lol!! That didn't even work & still had to stay after class lol!! All we did was laugh & ran out of there, laughing our butts off. You almost missed the bus home. Gosh, we probably had a million moments, like that & not a care, in the world. Remember Roberta, your neighbor? She took tennis lessons, w/ us at IHS & she was so big & strong, she hit the tennis balls, over the gate? The instructor, was so mad, thinking she did it on purpose lol!! We told Roberta, she should play baseball professionally, instead lol!! We left the lessons, laughing our butts off & still had to bike home. When times are hard, I reflect back on those happy moments, they make me feel better. Well, Ethel time for Lucy, to hit the hay. Save a soft cloud for me, when I see you again. Keep watching down, on all of us & please help direct me, in the right direction with moving. Give my mom, a big kiss n hug, for me. Sorry, it's been so long getting on here. Life has been crazy, as usual since mom, passed away. It's been a rough 2 yrs!! God I wish you were here! I talk to you all the time & I know, your here in spirit. I just a need, one of your teddy bear hugs. You were a great hugger, when I needed comfort. We had some great, fun times, didn't we? I keep thinking back, to high school days & how easy & care free, life was back then. Remember Great America? Our first jobs, at $ 3.10 a hour. It was worth it! Sorry, I haven't been visiting in a while. This year 2020 has been the worst. You would have hated it. This Pandemic will probably last all of 2021 too! Prayers that it ends soon, for all of us.
Thanksgiving was yesterday & always thinking back to those turkey dinners, at my house or at your moms. Those were great times! We always had a blast! Remember John Gorton? The "Gorton Fisherman" we called him lol!! He came over one time, for Thanksgiving & u & I just laughed the entire time lol!!
Trying to get the house decorated for Xmas & it's been a struggle. My heart isn't in it this year. You know me, this is my favorite time of the year! I'm trying to be cheerful for Alex & go all out decorating this year. I think with everything, going on in the world today, it's very different. Families can't see each other or spend time together. Were all trying to stay safe & avoid getting Covid. I miss you soooo much. I wish you were here to talk to. I do talk to you spiritually. It's not the same, but gives me some comfort. Mom still talks about you all the time. She is now in a nursing home, but feisty as ever lol!

Hey Toni,
Thinking about typing class w/ Mr. Cranell. Remember all the business classes we took? Watching a Lucille Ball movie & she is typing w/ no ink lol! Remember that happened to me & Mr. Cranell stood over me the entire time & raised his eye glasses & kept shaking his head? I just kept on typing & you wanted to die laughing & he thought I did it on purpose! Why would I have no ink for a typing test lol?? He always made me so nervous standing over me & when class was over, you ran outside & died laughing & said "Lucy" you did it again lol!! We sure did have good times!! I think if it was the school of laughter, we would have had a straight A report card. We always got into trouble in his class & Mr. Farnham for Drivers Ed too! Kept us after class idk how many times lol!! It didn't make any good, bc we still died laughing & then he separated us & still got into trouble lol!! Those we're good times! Summer has started & already too hot for me. I know how much you enjoyed the sunshine & loved being at the park feeding the squirrels. A little story time: I was driving to Safeway last night after work with the intention to buy some probably unhealthy snacks and I knew it was your birthday and I had been wanting to buy sunflowers to pay tribute to you because I knew they were your favorite flower, but every time I went to the grocery store, they were always out. (Apparently, sunflowers are popular here in Arizona.)
Anyway, I was about to turn in to the parking lot when I sent up a prayer, asking desperately for there to be sunflowers this time.
I was still praying as I walked into the grocery store, grabbed a shopping cart, and made a beeline for the floral section. I looked for probably five seconds before I spotted themthe very last mason jar vase of sunflowers, sitting on a completely empty shelf, all alone and just waiting for me.
That's when I knew my prayers were being answered. I cut my shopping short because I was so overwhelmed by how perfect it was that I found these beautiful flowers so last minute.
As I was checking out, the woman in line in front of me commented on how beautiful the flowers were. I told her, It's my godmother's birthday tomorrow. Sunflowers are her favorite.
I miss you, Auntie Toni. For years, I wished you could see me as the woman I am today. But now I know, you're always there with me. You're always looking down on me, watching me grow and learn every single day.

Thanks so much to the wonderful folks that keep in touch & for remembering Toni's birthday. She has left a special place in my heart, & I miss her dearly. I started my first big girl job at the beginning of the year. It's been a rough few weeks, but I know you're watching over me, guiding me. It's so crazy how fast time fliesI feel like it was yesterday when you plucked that deep blue pebble from your fish tank because I said it was pretty. Happy Xmas Eve Toni,
Had a interesting dream last night! Flying down the "Jelly Roll" slope at Bear Valley. Remember we joined the Ski Club? You can ski, but I never have & Mundi pushed me at the top & I went flying down non-stop lol! Ppl parted when they saw & heard me coming lol! Was a intermediate hill & I was lucky I didn't break my neck lol! That Xmas we both gave each other the same exact gift! Those silver ski mobile's & we laughed & laughed. I miss you so much! My sweet dear friend. Thirteen years ago today you left us. Still hard to believe you're gone! I still talk to you everyday & I know you're here spiritually. How lucky we all are to have you as our angel watching down on us. I was thinking the other day about us roller skating in Santa Cruz & getting stuck on top of the highest hill top we found. It made me laugh thinking about how we got back down to Beach Street ha ha! We had great memorable times that is for sure! Hey Toni,
It's almost your birthday! I still have our Hawaiian picture out of the two of us being squeezed by those two big guys at the luau lol!! We were both laughing in that picture bc the guy you got was really squeezing you lol!! I will never forget that trip as long as I live. We sure did have a blast & that was in 1981 still like yesterday! I know I keep thinking about out history teacher Mr. Hillis. He was our toughest teacher but was 100% correct when he kept telling us that once we graduated that our life would go by the speed of light! I remember all our faces in class , like we had all the time in the world. That still has stuck with me bc boy was he right!! We couldn't wait to graduate & get out into the real world & then we wanted to go back bc life was easier. All we had to worry about was report cards & having enough Appian Way Pizza mix after school lol!! So many memories my friend. I miss you so much! I wish you could see Hayden now. He just turned 10 today! He's so big. He's getting taller & will pass me by soon. RIP ANGEL, SISTER, BEST FRIEND....

Well it's been almost 11 yrs you have been gone. I still miss you everyday & think about all the happy times we shared. High School was a blast because you were there always keeping the group laughing everyday! Springtime is here & I miss our trips to the nursery in Los Gatos.

Hey, Auntie Toni. I'm sorry I wasn't able to write to you earlier--it seems that growing up entails very little down time to sit and think and enjoy the small moments. However, one of these small moments came to pass when my family and I were sitting on our back deck, reminiscing and joking about old stories of our childhoods.
We got onto the subject of you and Uncle Johnny's outrageously good cooking. I remember the spaghetti and the sushi served like a feast at our small duplex in San Jose. I remember visiting you and always asking for a snack whenever I arrived.
I still have the blue pebble you gave me from your fish tank, you know. It has a place of honor on my dresser in my bedroom.
I may have been young when you passed. But I will ALWAYS remember you, Auntie Toni. You have a special place in my heart that can never be filled. You took the role of a godparent above and beyond, and I will forever thank you and Uncle Johnny for that. You always had a smile and a hug ready and willing whenever my sister and I sprinted into the room.
Thank you for being the best godmother a girl could ever ask for. I know you're smiling down on me.

I can't believe it's going to be seven years since you left us! The time has been going by so quickly. Hayden is now five years old and growing taller each day! He will pass me by soon enough but of course you know we used to joke about how short I am lol!
