Tony Reyes Obituary

Tony Edward Reyes
1973-2012
Resident of San Bruno
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Tony Edward Reyes, who died tragically in a car accident on September 28, 2012. Our hearts are heavy with the pain of losing "Tonito," age 38. Born in Mountain View and a native of Cupertino, he leaves behind his beautiful wife Nicole Sylls and precious daughter, Gianna. He is survived by his mother Jessica Reyes, siblings Albert Reyes and Norma Rintala (John), and lots of family, including nieces and nephews Michael, Joseph, Alyssa, Veronica, Salena, Olivia, John, and Andrew. He is preceded in death by his father, Antonio S. Reyes.
Tony graduated from Monta Vista High School in Cupertino and San Jose State University. He discovered his passion for bowling in his youth while living near the bowling alley in Cupertino. Tony played leagues in high school and started traveling to tournaments, with his mother always by his side. He played for the San Jose State bowling team and earned many collegiate awards. He was recently inducted into the Northern CA Youth Bowling Hall of Fame.
Tony played in the Professional Bowlers Association for 14 seasons, traveling all over the world. In 2006 he won the PBA Tour title in Detroit and scored a perfect 300 in a nationally televised game. He co-ran a successful pro shop at 4th Street Bowl in San Jose called Off the Sheet. He also found time to train local youth and coordinate annual tournaments.
His greatest love and achievement was his family life with Nicole and Gianna. He enjoyed simple times with his family and friends watching San Francisco Giants and Oakland Raider games, often sharing his home with the close knit group of friends he cherished. Tony was taken away from us too soon, but his giving spirit and charming personality will be remembered by all.
Visitation is on Sun., Oct 7 2012 from 4:00pm to 8:00pm in the Barrett Ballroom, San Jose State Student Union, with a vigil service at 6:00pm. A funeral mass and burial will begin on Tues., Oct 9 2012 at St. Joseph's Church, Cupertino at 10:30am. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to www.tonyreyesmemorial.org. Tony, (tone, as Ro says)...we are devastated and love you so much; we feel very deeply for your family and will look after them. I will never forget the pure beauty of watching you smile and laugh blissfully while feeding Gianna her first birthday cake; you were the image of happiness on Earth. Thank you for being a wonderful best friend to my husband, uncle to Max, and for welcoming me into the group. And of course,
Go Giants, Go Raiders, and Go Big Blue!

Tony, you have been an inspiration and a legend in my household. My family strives in the sport of bowling, but it is our 15 years old son that worships the ground you walk on. He has the you tube video of your 300 game on national tv which he has stored in his list of favorites for the longest. You will be truly missed. Your smile was so contagious!

What an absolute shock to hear that our dear Tony had passed away. At these times, we are at a loss for words. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family.
Our son, Chris a.k.a Beano, was so looking forward to seeing Tony again on the tour again and to meet his lon awaited special family, Nicole and Gianna.
Even thought it may be a while eventually you find comfort in all the fabulous memories that he made for all of you.
Love from another Michigan family that he touched.
