I considered Martine more than a Co-Worker he was a friend. His smile will be something I remember probably the rest of my life. Martin was an avid astronomy lover and photographer. He made sure Mountain Home was on trip advisor and that the places of interest weren't lost just because it was a small town. One of my fondest memories was when I asked him about a beginners telescope, he went on line got me specs for different ones and with so much excitement he told me the pros and cons to each one. Martin I will miss out talks before the shift change. God's speed my friend.

Martin was a dear friend. We spent many pleasant hours paddling the rivers with him and celebrated years of Thanksgiving dinners with Martin. One of my favorite memories of Martin was when he would paddle ahead of us on an evening paddle and put up red and green lights at the take-out just like in harbors. I remember after an evening paddle where we had been singing "Aquarius," Martin sent us an email telling us when the moon would be in the seventh house and Jupiter aligned with Mars." Then, with his funny sense of humor, he said "Peace will probably not guide the planets nor love steer the stars since Bush is president. " I tell this story and add that Martin considered himself a lone Republican among his liberal friends. It really made us laugh. Martin will be missed.
