Dear Hayden Family, Everyone at LPS staff, students, and alumni are so sorry for the terrible loss of Mike. It didn't matter if we had him 1 year or 2 years as a history teacher. Some of us had Mike for 2 years in a row and always made class fun by making everyone laugh!!! Mike was really the best history teacher everyone has had!!! Mike is deeply missed by anyone who knew him. Make sure that you always keep all the memories close and never lose them. Our prayers and thoughts go out to your family.

Mike Hayden was the best History teacher I ever had If you ever knew Mike Hayden Personally you already know what a inspiring Man he was and still is forever in our hearts. Sometimes people say that teachers are only there to teach you and help you move on with your life. Mike Hayden was not just a tacher to me though he was a inspiration to me and a good friend. Not that I had any doubt before but I liked all of the teachers I had. I think I liked Mike Hayden the best though. I will miss him because he was very special to me. R.I.P love Dan Rivard

Mike was a terrific teacher. I was lucky to have him as my history for both junior and senior years at LPS. He had a great sense of humor and was very kind and caring. He will be missed by many.

Mike Hayden was the best history teacher I ever had. He didn't talk about history as if it were a bunch of events with certain dates, but rather brought history to life through telling stories about his own life and by relating history to our lives. I am so sorry for your loss Hayden family, but may Mike remain with you in spirit.

I would definitely say Mike was the best history teacher I ever had. I think that the reason why I liked him so much as a teacher is because of how unconventional he was. He didn't just talk about a bunch of events and when they happened, but brought history to life by telling stories of his past and by trying to relate history to our lives and many times he made it funny. I am so sorry for your loss Hayden Family, and may he always remain with you in spirit.

Mike was one of the best teachers I have ever had, and to this day with all the new teachers I have had after high school he definitely is still the best! He was very out spoken and truly loved his job, and of course his sense of humor was the best, always making everyone laugh! He truly will be missed. I am terribly sorry for your loss, always remember the great memories, Hayden family. You are in my thoughts in prayers.

Dear the Hayden family I'm so sorry for the loss of your family member . I was not blessed on having Mike as teacher but I wished I did . A lot of my friends to me a lot of wonderful stories about him . Once again I wished I had him as a teacher.

I have to say that he impacted my son deeply. He was my son Stephen's teacher at Learning Prep, in Newton. My Stephen said that he wanted to become a history teacher because Mr Hayden seemed to be enjoying his job so much. My Son is now in College training to be the kind of teacher that Mr Hayden was. Dear Hayden Family,
For two year of my high school career I had the privilege and honor to have the greatest teacher the world had to offer, which was Mike Hayden. Every day of class he would have smile on his face and would brighten up the class room with his humorous and infectious personality. To this day and forever and ever he will remain the greatest teacher I ever knew. Everyone who had Mike Hayden as teacher would agree with me when I say "he the teacher any student would love have." Dear Hayden Family,
For two years of my high school career I had the privilege and honor to be one of Mike's students. In my own words Mike was the teacher any kid would be fortunate have. Every day no matter the situation or day he would always make you and class laugh with his humorous and infectious personality. Every day in class we would manage to get of the subject and he would tell us hilarious stories that had some relation to what we were talking about. To loose a teacher like Mike is a huge loss for LPS and a greater loss for you and your family. I am deeply sorry for loss of and your in my thoughts and prayers. Mike was a history teacher I will never forget having. He never failed to make me smile and laugh in his class. I could sit there all day long and never get bored of hearing all his stories. Michael was a very special addition to LPS...He often shared his faith and love for his family. He was kind and humorous - I often popped into his classroom for a daily hello and a, "share and care" time. His genuine, warm personality was appreciated by all of us. Mike was one of my favorite teachers at LPS. I had him for two years and he became not just a teacher but a friend. He made all his students laugh with all his funny stories & made learning history actually FUN for once. He was also very passionate about his job-not one day did I see a frown on his face. I never would've imagined him being gone like this. He was so caring and nice. His happiness was infectious. Im honored he got to see me graduate LPS highschool 2 years ago. I'll never forget you. So sorry for Hayden family's loss...we just heard today. He was a wonderful History teacher for my son and his class. My son loved Mike while he attended LPS and graduated in 2011. He enjoyed History because of Mike. We were just talking about how my son loves History & how his teacher, Mike influenced him positively. We will always remember him in our hearts.

I never got to know Michael as an adult, but I have no doubt that he was a wonderful human being. I never forgot the little boy who wanted to "run away and be a hippy", or his unique style of landing toy rockets, or kicking me under the dinner table when he wanted to crack me up at your dinner table.
