Patricia Tighe Obituary

MILFORD Mrs. Patricia M. (Clement) Tighe, 74, of Milford, died Friday, Oct. 16, 2009, at the Milford Geriatric Authority after a period of declining health. She was the wife of the late Edwards B. Tighe, who died in 1993. Mrs. Tighe was born in Milford, the daughter of the late Alfred J. and the late Mary (Burke) Clement. She attended the former St. Marys Grammar School and was a graduate of the former St. Marys High School, Class of 1952. As a young woman, Mrs. Tighe was employed as a telephone operator for the New England Telephone Company. After her marriage she became a loving housewife and homemaker who loved arts and crafts and spending time with her family. Mrs. Tighe was a lifelong resident of Milford and a communicant of St. Mary of the Assumption Church. Mrs. Tighe is survived by her daughter, Kara L., wife of Thomas Belland of Mendon; and her two grandsons, Connor Belland and Sean Belland of Mendon. Her funeral will be held Tuesday, Oct. 20, at 11 a.m., at the Edwards Memorial Funeral Home (www.edwardsmemorialfuneralhome.com), 44 Congress St., Milford, followed by a Mass of Christian burial at 12:10 p.m., at St. Mary of the Assumption Church, 19 Winter St., Milford. Burial will follow in St. Marys Cemetery, Milford. Visiting hours are Monday, Oct. 19, from 5 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to The Milford Geriatric Authority Resident Activities Fund, 1 Countryside Drive, Milford, MA 01757.
