MIDDLESBORO, Kentucky — William Arthur Yeary, age 76, of Middlesboro, passed away on Tuesday, October 6, 2015 at the University of Tennessee Hospital. He was born March 13, 1939 in Middlesboro. As a life-long resident of the area, Arthur as he was known, was a humorous, outgoing person. He had a positive, "never give up" attitude and a strong belief in our Lord Jesus Christ.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Maximillian Thomas Yeary, Sr. and Helen Irene Chadwell Yeary; one brother, Maximillian Thomas Yeary, Jr.; his beloved wife, Ruth Ann Hatfield Yeary; brother in-laws, Tom Hatfield and Ira Hatfield and a host of other beloved relatives and friends.
He is survived by four children: Anthony Dee Yeary (Jill) of Harrogate, TN, Paul Edward Yeary (Rosalee) of Pippa Passes, KY, Larry Dewayne Yeary (Sally) of Tazewell, TN, and Claudette Irene Yeary Fairchild (Roger) of Oil Springs, KY; his grandchildren: Della Brakefield, Sarah Jackson, Christopher T. Yeary, Stacey Cupp (Chad), Christopher G. Yeary (Sherisa), Jesse D. Yeary, Ruby E. Yeary, Phillip D. Yeary (Monica), Joshua N. Yeary, and Leah Faith Fairchild; his great-grandchildren: Abby,Isaiah, Elijah, Raymond, Sarah, Julian, Jada, Jason, Trinity and Brayden; sister in-law Retha Hatfield and a host of close friends and relatives.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m., Friday, October 9, 2015 at Shumate Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Dr. William Boyd Bingham III presiding. Music will be provided by Rev. Jim Yeary. Pallbearers will be Phillip Yeary, Joshua Yeary, Jesse Yeary, Christopher G. Yeary, Chris Abner, Christopher T. Yeary and Roger Fairchild. The family will receive family and friends from 6-8 p.m. at the Shumate Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday, October 8, 2015.
