JOSEPH VIGNERI Obituary

Joseph H. Vigneri, 76, passed away peacefully on Friday July 7, 2017 to join his wife Annette in eternal love. Born on June 11, 1941, he was the son of the late John "Vine" Vigneri and Anne (Lovallo) Vigneri. Joe was a lifelong resident of Middletown, where he attended local schools, and owned and operated several thriving businesses, including the White Onion and Connecticut Energy. Joe was also a general manager at several flourishing car dealerships throughout the state. Joe was a loving husband, father, and grandfather, and will certainly be remembered for the way his presence and sense of humor could light up a room. Joe always enjoyed traveling, often taking the entire family on vacation. Joe loved attending his grandsons' football games, and also enjoyed watching the Yankees play, especially from the view at the stadium. On a beautiful summer day, you could find Joe riding his Honda Silver Wing Scooter, or taking one of his grandkids for a ride to the shore in his convertible, playing jazz music the whole way. More than anything, Joe cherished being with his family, who will miss him dearly. Joe is survived by his son, John Vigneri and his wife Michele of Higganum; his son Joseph Vigneri and wife Melissa of East Haven; his daughter Liza Vigneri of Middletown; 11 grandchildren, Brooke Vigneri and her fiancé George Sirigos, Brittney Vigneri, Jaden Davis, Hannah Vigneri, Gage Davis, Tanner Vigneri, Ryder Vigneri, Presley Malley, Cooper Vigneri, Michael Malley, and Shannen Staves; his sister Barbara Froebel and husband Gene; his mother-in-law Doreen Fazzino; his brother-in-law Paul Fazzino; his sister-in-law Connie Perkins and husband Dan; and several nieces and nephews. Joe was predeceased by his wife Annette (Fazzino) Vigneri, and his brother, Johnny Vigneri. Joe's love for adventures and great storytelling will be truly missed by all. Family and friends are invited to pay their respects on Wednesday July 12, 2017 at D'Angelo Funeral Home from 5 until 8 pm. Interment will be private. Donations in Joe's memory can be made to ASRC - Autism Services and Resources Connecticut, 101 North Plains Industrial Road, Harvest Park, Building 1A, Wallingford, CT 06492.

My memory of Joe goes back to 8th grade at Central school. He bestowed the nickname, Mousey, because I used to watch the Mousecateer show. He liked to tease me and I found him to be a real funny guy.
