Joseph Vigneri Obituary

Joseph P. Vigneri
Joseph Paul Vigneri passed away peacefully on Wednesday May 3, 2023 surrounded by his loving family. Joseph was born on September 29, 1969 to Joseph and Annette Vigneri in Middletown, CT, where he grew up. Joe graduated from Middletown High School, where he played football. Joe went on to spend the majority of his working years as a contractor and laborer, doing home improvements alongside his father in the family business. Joe was most recently employed by Amazon, where he was adored by his coworkers, and never had a hard time amusing friends. Joe was incredibly strong, spending most of his life doing physically demanding jobs, as well as playing sports, snowboarding, and going to the gym. Joe was also incredibly resilient in mind and spirit, continuously displaying bravery and courage when met with adversity. Joe had a passion for acting, which he pursued as a hobby. He had a lead role in a play, a small role in a movie, and was an extra for a television series. Joe was a loyal New York fan, closely following the Giants and Yankees. He loved Saturday night family dance parties, falling asleep to The Jeffersons with his sons, and getting together with family to watch the Giants and make steamed cheeseburgers. His family will always remember him sitting outside by the firepit, throwing a few back, making everyone laugh, and playing Audioslave or Pearl Jam in the background. Joe was known for his unforgettable smile, laugh, and sense of humor. He was incredibly devoted to his family and was especially protective of them all. Joseph is survived by his wife, Melissa (Linehan) Vigneri; his children, Brooke and son-in-law George Sirigos, Brittney Vigneri, Tanner Vigneri, Ryder Vigneri, and Cooper Vigneri; grandson, Geo Sirigos; brother, John and wife Michele Vigneri; sister, Liza Vigneri and partner Massimo DeMedici; brothers-in-law, Brian and wife Liz Linehan, and Justin Linehan; and mother-and-father-in-law, Deborah and Kevin Linehan. Joseph also leaves behind nephews, Jaden and Gage Davis, and Connor and Finnegan Linehan; nieces, Hannah Vigneri, Zoe Linehan, Presley Malley, and Shannen Ross; great-niece, Everleigh Davis; as well as aunts, uncles, and cousins. Joseph was met in the afterlife by his parents; maternal grandparents (Salvatore and Doreen Fazzino); paternal grandparents (John and Anne Vigneri); uncles, Paul and David Fazzino, and John Vigneri. Joe's family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to Yale New Haven Hospital and New England Donor Services for their compassion during this difficult time. Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 13th, at 9 a.m. at Northford Congregational Church, 4 Old Post Rd., Northford. Burial will be at St. Mary Cemetery, Portland. Visitation will be held Friday, May 12th, from 5 to 8 p.m. at Biega Funeral Home, 3 Silver St., Middletown. To the Vigneri Family,
I am so sorry for your loss. May God Bless you and Guide you during this difficult time.
I have been a neighbor of Joe and his E.H. family for several years. I'll miss seeing him hanging out on the porch with his younger children and hearing his friendly hello's. It's hard to believe and yet, such a reminder that God can call us home any time He decides...enjoy Heaven Joe.

Wasn't fortunate enough to have had the opportunity to meet Joe, but Melissa and I have worked together for many years. We always talk about our spouses and children. Her deep love for her family is hallmark of who she is. From all the kinds words about Joe it is clear that he felt the same way. May the love and support of your family be a comfort to you at this difficult time.

In loving memory of a dedicated, protective Father. I miss you soooo much Dad. I will forever cherish every moment spent together. Most of all, I miss your hugs. Specifically because they were always the same, bringing me back to the safest place the world ever offered. I promise I am trying to be strong since you would not have had it any other way. You're the reason I am resilient. Now everytime I see a pic of you, hear your voice on social media or remember how you laughed, I feel this big, overwhelming void. At first, I laugh but that glimmer of hope soons turns into me being dangerously inconsolable. Inconsolable over many things; perhaps the most painful part is knowing that I have to try to navigate this existence without you. Something I am not ready to do and something I do not ever want to have to get used to. I can still smile as long as I am thinking about the best father a girl could have had. I can still smile as long as I am thinking about you. XXOO

I´m so incredibly grateful to have worked with Joe for the last 18 months. After falling on hard times, I moved back home to Connecticut. Joe and I clicked immediately. We constantly shared laughs, but more importantly, Joe became a trusted confidant to me. He was an excellent listener and always let me unload onto him any problems or issues I was struggling with. He was my best friend at work, but I´m pretty sure he was a lot of people´s best friend at work. That speaks volumes of the kind of guy he was.

To Joe´s family, I can´t imagine the pain you must be feeling, but I hope, in time, that you´ll find comfort and peace rejoicing in all your positive memories of him.

Love you, buddy. Til we meet again...

Thank you for the dedication in volunteering with us at New Haven garden, you were so excited to come along to Habitat for Humanity and now it won’t be the same with out you there. You will always be in my mind and heart Joe, May God strengthen your family. God Bless.
