Steven J. Goodman, 65, of Missoula, passed away quietly at home on February 13, 2025. Steve was born in Sheridan, Wyoming on March 5,1959 to Robyn and Beverly Goodman, but spent most of his life in Missoula. He graduated from Sentinel High School in 1977, and after a few short jobs, went to work at The Depot restaurant where he worked as Kitchen Manager for 30 years. He married his high school sweetheart, Ann Houtchens, the love of his life, in 1981 and together they raised two wonderful children, Chloe and Keenan. In the prime of his life, Steve was diagnosed with and fought a hard won battle against multiple myeloma. His courage and perseverance in the face of a difficult course of treatment won him 15 more years of precious time with his family. In his off time and in his retirement, Steve liked to refinish second hand furniture, work crossword puzzles and Sudoku and play games with family. He was a master gardener and passionate about growing beautiful things in his garden. Each year he grew a beautiful oasis in his back garden bursting with color that was a delight to visit. Steve was a quiet, loving, funny man, devoted to his family, and he will be dearly missed by all of us who loved him. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Ann Goodman and their children, Chloe Goodman and Keenan Goodman, his mother Beverly Goodman, sisters Becky (Jeff) Royal, Randi (Bill) Cuny and Nancy (Jody) Martin, nephew Elias (Chandra) Martin, niece Mariah (Jimmy) Weichel, devoted canine friend and walking companion Chester, his favorite kitty cat Cleo, and his little best buddy Zorro.

In lieu of flowers, Steve would be pleased by a donation to a favorite charity.

A family celebration of Steve's life will be held at a later date.
