Anthony Silva "Tony" Mendonca, 84 of Gustine passed away Monday, December 30th at his residence.
Tony was born to A.S. and Mary G. Mendonca in Gustine on December 1, 1929. He graduated from Gustine High School Class of 1947 and was a life-long resident of Gustine. He was a creamery worker at East West Dairymans Creamery for 25 years. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and was a member of the Gustine VFW and several Portuguese Lodges. He was an avid reader and enjoyed working in his yard.
Mr. Mendonca is survived by his brothers, Lawrence (Kathy) Mendonca of Gustine, Manuel (Loretta) Mendonca of Napa and Joaquin (Francine) Mendonca of Stockton; sister, Celeste (Charlie) Beffa of Gustine; sister-in-law, Sharon Mendonca of Stockton and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his brothers, Edward Mendonca and Benedict Mendonca and sister, Mary Correia.
A Visitation was held Tuesday, January 7th at Hillview Funeral Chapel in Gustine. A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 am, Wednesday, January 8th at Hillview Funeral Chapel in Gustine. Interment to follow at San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery in Santa Nella.
