Jonathan Lederle Obituary

Jonathan M. Lederle
January 17, 1979 - May 2, 2015
In loving memory of Jonathan M. Lederle, who was taken from us too soon.  He was born in Modesto, California where he attended public schools and played on numerous youth soccer and baseball teams. Jon  graduated from Thomas Downey High School where his passion for sports continued as he played on both the soccer and baseball teams.  Jon answered his Country's call and proudly served 3 tours in Iraq as a decorated combat veteran of the U.S. Army's elite 101st Airborne Division.  Jon was a lifelong fan of the San Francisco Giants and the 49ers.  He enjoyed coaching youth soccer and baseball and had a love for the outdoors.
He is survived by his wife Cyndi Lederle; children, Tyler and Savanna Lederle; mother Lonita Lederle; father Joe and step-mother Darcey Lederle; brother, Richard (Monica) Lederle; step-brothers, Jared and Matt Boone; nieces Kelsey, Kayla, Kylee Lederle and Bella Boone; grandmothers, Beverly Lederle and Marlyce Lederle; and grandfather, Orville Helm. He is also survived by many loving aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
We will always remember Jon's love of Family, most notably his commitment to his children, his sense of humor and his ability to light up a room with his smile.
The graveside service will be held Monday, May 11th at 2:00 p.m. at St. Stanislaus Catholic Cemetery, Scenic Drive, Modesto.   A Celebration of Life will immediately follow at The Eagle's Hall, 126 Camellia Way, Modesto.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you please make a donation to the Wounded warriors, www.woundedwarriorproject.org

I am so sad to hear of Jonathan's passing. My brother served with him so we are part of the same family. We just very recently lost my brother also. My thoughts are with you and his entire family.

We will meet again in valhalla, where we will drink and tell stories of times long ago. Untill then may your family regoice in the amazing things you did here on earth.

I had the great privilege of serving with Jon on our tour in Baghdad from 2005-2006. He was an outstanding Soldier and man. "Led" as we all called him is one of the Soldiers I tell stories about all the time. There is nothing that he wouldn't or couldn't do for his brothers and he had the knack for making us all laugh while getting it done. I am deeply sadden by the sudden and untimely loss of Jonathan, but know that it pales in comparison to the grief that his family is feeling. Please know that you are in the constant thoughts and prayers of the Sears family and I will carry Led's memory with me until the day I leave this Earth.

CURRAHEE!

I was Jon's Platoon Sergeant for his first deployment. Not only a great trooper, but a character as well. Respected by all, he would bend his back to make the mission happen. Jon will be remembered as a true friend and sorely missed as a Screaming Eagle, friend and father.
