Joyce Sanders Obituary
December 16, 1946 - January 28, 2023
Riverbank, California - Joyce was born to Lucille and Orangel Sanders and welcomed home by her brother Larry. Joyce grew up in the Modesto and Oakdale area.
Joyce absolutely loved being a hairdresser and worked at Hairs To Ya in Oakdale for many years. She said her favorite part was being part of her clients lives and the camaraderie that came with the profession. After health issues made it difficult to continue Joyce made the hard decision to move on. Joyce found her niche in customer service and sales, that is where her focus was until retirement.
Joyce's biggest source of happiness came from her friends and family. Joyce had two sons, Kevin (Jill) Schieffer, Randy (Lori) Schieffer. Joyce considered herself blessed to have a granddaughter, Janessa (Cody) Griffith, three grandsons Boone & Bodie Schieffer and Kris Roberts, great granddaughter, Rylee Griffith, brother Larry (Louise) Sanders and niece Danielle Sanders. Joyce had countless cousins and friends, all whom she adored.
Jack Fretas was Joyce's companion. Jack doted on Joyce and made sure she always had whatever she needed from cat wrangler to caregiver.
Those that were lucky enough to know Joyce will remember her quick wit, big smile, and huge heart.
Joyce requested that donations be made the to the A.S.T.R.O. Foundation-PO Box 457-Oakdale CA 95361, so they can continue to spread her love of animals, especially her cat Molly
