Julius Mueller Obituary

Seaside, California - Dr. Julius H. Mueller III, 87 of Seaside, CA passed away on November 4, 2020 at Hearts and Hands Hospice.
He was born on April 4, 1933 in Attleboro, MA. He was the son of the late Julius H. Mueller, Jr. and Mabel E. Williamson Mueller.
Jules graduated from Brandeis University and Boston University School of Medicine. He received his residency in ophthalmology at the University of California, San Francisco. He proudly served in the United States Navy as a doctor for 4 years before completing his ophthalmology degree. Jules also completed his service in the reserves as a lieutenant colonel.
He was a dedicated and successful Ophthalmologist in Modesto, CA for over 40 years. He worked well into his 70's to help the elderly and disenfranchised.
Upon retirement, Jules moved to the Monterey Peninsula. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Jules traveled extensively and excitedly shared stories from his travels as well as socializing with his neighbors. He was an active member of his community. Jules enjoyed going for walks with his beloved cats, Angus and Princess.
He was a proud father to his children, Catherine "Caty" Mueller, David (Hope) Mueller, Shannon Frederickson and Robb (Lianne) Mueller. He was an attentive grandfather to his grandchildren, Tori (Matthew) Davis, Landon Mueller, Rex and Lee Mueller and Ella and Jakob Frederickson.
He shared close relationships with his sisters, Karin McElvein and Margery Burns. He is also loved and will be missed by his nieces, nephews, extended family, friends and neighbors.
Jules was preceded in death by his parents, his daughter, Catherine "Caty" Mueller, brother Phillip Mueller, his wife, Elizabeth Mueller, brother in laws, Dave McElvein and Dan Burns.
The family would like to thank the close knit community Jules resided in. Also, special thanks to the dedicated staff and physicians at Hearts and Hands Hospice for the kind and compassionate care provided to Jules.
Donations in Jules memory can be made to a local animal shelter due to his love of animals, especially cats.

So happy with this loving tribute to my uncle Jules. He was such a thoughtful man. He showed me many things in life and I loved listening to his stories. Love you Uncle! You are missed!

I am so sorry to read of Dr. Mueller’s passing. I was recently relating to someone about an eye issue I had decades ago and the attention Dr. Mueller gave it. He was a kind man and a very knowledgeable physician. My sincere condolences to his family. May his memory be eternal.
