Beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, teacher and friend, June passed away peacefully at the home of her son, Dirk Bloxham, in Bangkok, Thailand on June 8, 2018 at the age of 93.
June was born in San Francisco on May 24, 1925 to James and Irene Robertson. As a child she learned to tap dance and performed in many shows, including the 1932 World's Fair on Treasure Island. June's family relocated to San Carlos where she attended Sequoia High School in Redwood City and met her future husband, Lee Bloxham. June graduated from San Jose State in 1947 and married Lee a year later in October 1948. They were married for 58 years until Lee's death in 2007. June was a much-loved physical education teacher in Modesto, CA, where she taught at area high schools, the Parks and Rec Dept. and at Modesto Junior College. June leaves a legacy of many lives touched with her wit and wisdom, her optimistic outlook on life, her support of her family and friends, and her selflessness.
June is survived by her four children, Linda Bloxham (Jerry) of Rocklin, CA; Susan Lavagnino (Steve) of Twain Harte, CA; Betty Anne Bloxham of San Mateo, CA; and Dirk Bloxham (Thanom) of Bangkok, Thailand. She also is survived by 6 grandchildren (Marc and John Taerea, Holly Moore, Sumalee Shellerud, June Bloxham, Nongluck Sunthornwipat) and 4 great grandchildren (Olivia, Gianna and Madeline Moore and Cora Louise Taerea). Her husband Lee predeceased her as well as her grandson Ryan Lavagnino and great granddaughter Kali Jane Taerea. Remembrances can be made in the form of a donation to Granite Springs Church, 1170 E.
