Michael Tereba Obituary

Michael P. Tereba
July 2, 1954 - Oct 26, 2011
After a 4 year battle with cancer, Michael passed away this Wednesday evening, October 26, 2011, in the good company of his loving family.
He was born on the 2nd of July, 1954 in Makati, Philippines to Elena and the late Milton Tereba. He lived the past 30 years in Modesto, California. Michael had been employed as a Divisional Sales Manager in Citrus Heights, CA during his 20 year career working for JCPenney.
Mike was proud to have served in the United States Marine Corp. He was a loving son, brother, father and a loyal friend to all that knew him. He adored his extended family and close friends.
Mike had a great appreciation for the outdoors and all of it's natural beauty. An avid and experienced outdoorsman, this is where he truly felt at peace.
Michael is survived by his mother Elena Tereba, his son: Sean Tereba & wife Tiffany, his two daughters: Lindsay Tereba and Elena Tereba, his brothers: Richard, Mark and Robert Tereba and his sister: Carol Tereba.
A celebration of Michael's life will be held on Sunday November 6th at 1716 Kansas ave 95358 between the hours of 3 and 9.
In lieu of customary remembrances, the family requests with gratitude that memorial contributions in Michael's honor be directed to the California State Parks Foundation. Information may be found at www.calparks.org.

I miss you more than anything. I can't tell you how many nights this past month I've waken up for hours just thinking about you. Everyone says it's gets easier but it hasnt. It never will. You are my meaning of love, and I just wish more than anything that you could be here holding me up. My life is changing so much and I could only imagine how it would be if you were here. Come visit me in my dreams please. It's been too long. I love you

I miss you more than words can say. I wish you were here. I try to set a good example and teach her the way you taught me, but... I know that you watch over her and help keep her safe and I pray that one day we will all make you proud. I love you and miss you always.

Ninong,
I miss you so much. Words could never explain the pain I feel, knowing I cant kiss your forehead anymore or hear your smart remarks. You were the strongest man I'll probably ever meet and I'm so proud of you for fighting as hard as you did. I wish I got to spend just a little bit more time with you, but that's okay because I know you had to go. I talk to you every night before bed.. I hope you hear me. I love and miss you with all my heart.

Tereba, u were a very true friend, we shared alot of laughs together & i've cried on ur shoulders a few times. I always enjoyed when u came to visit just to shoot the breeze. You shared ur heart as my friend, when u spent (of all days) valentines day with me one year when i was under the weather, with ur hugs & kind words telling me i would be ok. Your friendship was priceless to me & u will always be in my heart. RIP my dearest friend TEREBA...

Mike, i feel like moments like these always leave us at a loss for words But i'd like to thank you now for being the wonderful person you have always shown to be with everyone who knows you. Especially with those you love, your mom, your children and friends. They say when a friend leave this world the void they leave behind is huge, a void that can't be replaced by another. That is how those of us who consider ourselves your friends feel. Thank you for giving us the opportunity to have gotten to know you and your beautiful family.
Rest in peace Mike. Your friends Hector, Betty, Lily, Ishmael, Melanie

Michael Tereba was without a doubt, the closest friend I have ever had my entire life. He was my business partner, he was my confidant & my Best Man. He was always there when I needed him, which was countless times as I recall.

I loved Michael as if he were my brother. I had the deepest respect for him. I trusted him with my life. Michael was known for his sense of humor, love for camping and fishing and was the first person with his wallet out when the waitress brought over the check.

Mike, rest in peace my friend and worry not for your family or friends, for you have made us all stronger and better people for knowing you. You will never be far from our thoughts, our dreams and our memories.
