MARIA ZOZAYA Obituary

MARIA C. ZOZAYA
Maria C. Zozaya, age 83, a resident of Mohave Valley, Arizona, gained her wings on Monday, February 17, 2025. Maria was born on April 2, 1941 in Needles, California.
She attended and graduated from Needles High School in 1959. As a devoted Mustangs fan, she always supported each generation in their sports. Maria was a beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother aka Nan. She lived her life to being a loving and forgiving sole to her family.
Maria was preceded in death by her son, Steven M. Zozaya; parents, Alberto Proa Sr and Ambrosia Guerrero Proa; brothers, Frank Proa and Alberto Proa; and sister, Anna Proa Sanchez.
Maria leaves behind her daughters, Cynthia M. Zozaya Russell (TC Russell) or as she called him her Handsome and Yvonne D. Zozaya; son, Sam Ranes (Debbie); her brothers, Raymond G. Proa, Crispen Proa, and Steven Proa; sister, Linda C. Proa; grandchildren, Manuel R. Russell, Ty A. Russell, Rudy B. Zozaya (Angela), Rachel N. Zozaya, Darrell Russell, Darra Russell, Delashounda Russell, Dechaunee Russell, Sam Ranes, Karla Ranes Beal, Marissa Ranes, and Beau Ranes; and many great- grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held at 9:30 am on Saturday, March 29, 2025 at St. Anns Catholic Church, 218 D St. Needles, California. Rosary at 9:30am, Mass to follow.
Graveside burial at Needles Riverview Cemetery, 1101 E. Broadway St. with reception to follow funeral services at Needles Eagles Lodge #2599, 729 Front Street, Needles California.
